I agree, they're interested in purchasing politicians, the important groupings are the ins and the outs, not Dems or Reps.

2) Used civilians as human shields while in battle and retreating,

4) Tried to start World War III by shooting missles into Israel,

6) Gassed and murdered their own people...

And, I was not trying to imply that the Democrats were "associated" with big business...I was implying that they are "owned" by big business.

Exactly where in the Constitution is the US government tasked with policing the world?

Iraq is hardly the only country abusive with its people, add Belarus, Myanmar, China, N Korea, Saudi Arabia, fill in the blank-o-stan, etc. Are they all to be our respomsibility? Should be invade/occupy all with little/no benefit to the US?

Considering that we are dealing with that issue in Afghanistan I'd think you are happy with your Presidents overall performance in the ME. Bush is doing a fine job

go ahead, say it

Big business puts their money where it buys the most influence. Big business can look down the road seven months and see that the party in control will be the Democrats.

Yet, when I look at this chart of major political contributors, and where they are contributing, it seems that the Democrats are the ones stuffing their pockets with big business bucks...

Is this just another example of how lies are so easily accepted as fact by an uninformed public?

2008 Election Overview: Top Overall Donors
Why do you assume that much of the public is uninformed on this? For the past eight years, big business has contributed more to Republicans for the simple reason that they were in power. The balance is now shifting towards the Democrats. Successful businesses tend to notice trends. It's what makes them successful.

Bush is doing a fine job of turning the Middle East into a complete disaster area. Iraq has been destroyed, thereby removing it as any sort of restraint upon Iran. After driving the Taliban into hiding in Afghanistan while not catching bin Laden, the job there was abandoned, allowing the problem to refester to its current proportions. By letting Israel off the leash, we have seen Lebanon bombed back to 1980. Through the folly of supporting and then undercutting democracy in the Palestinian territories, we have seen unprecedented increases in human suffering there, and no progress at all toward the peaceful resolution of any issue. Meanwhile, Syria has grown only more bold in its aspirations and the Turks and Kurds are at each other's throats again.

As in so many other areas, both foreign and domestic, that have been so unfortunate as to see themselves show up on Bush's radar, the Middle East has only been set back by the efforts (if you can call them that) of this administration.

No, the 911 commission report stated that they couldnt find a provable link, however they stated numerous times that there was communication going on.

You know this, and yet you continue to repeat, and repeat 1/2 truths.

Update: Clinton didn't use that as an excuse to conquer Iraq.

Update: The Taliban presence in Iraq prior to the Bush invasion was there to oppose Saddam.

Asia Times Online :: South Asia news, business and economy from India and Pakistan (http://atimes.com/atimes/south_asia/hc15df03.html - broken link)

The Taliban's connection with Iraq began before the US-led attack there in 2003 when Taliban leader Mullah Omar sent some of his men to stay with the Ansarul Islam, a Kurdish Islamic group in northern Iraq, to train and fight alongside Kurdish guerrillas against Saddam Hussein's forces. After the US invasion, many of these men went to other parts of the country to fight alongside various groups opposed to the US forces.

Diehard Bush backers keep slipping further into irrationality to justify their continued support of a failed presidency.
