Yes they did. And eventually Holder gave Congress what they wanted because he was Constitutionally required to do so. Much of what Holder argued, Barr would likely argue as well. There problem, however, is that the Courts have already ruled that Holder's position (and Barr's potential position) is meritless.

Was that court case decided by SCOTUS ?

Meanwhile D Tn. Steve Cohen tries to make the case the senate needs to function as he wants it too. Failing to recognize the separations of power.

The White House has today asserted executive privilege over the remaining documents that have not already been released, as required by law. So if the House Judiciary Committee wants to have a contempt of Congress vote, they now need to target it at President Trump.

If they go ahead with the vote against AG Barr anyway, it will just document what a bunch of unhinged clowns these people are, yet again.

So far the democrats are making their case against the President and the Senate and very little on A.G. Barr.

Barr is in contempt for refusing to request a release of grand jury information by a judge. Barr continues to act as the president's lawyer by asking him to insert privilege over the report. The report was made public as well as McGahn's testimony. Barr is a hack that should be held in contempt. Trump is a sitting criminal in the WH. He should be sitting in jail right along with Cohen and Manafort. The GOP is trying to distract and deflect with the "SPYING" investigation even though Trump appointed FBI director Wray said "no evidence". The Trump presidency has been a chaotic mess.

D. Mary Gay Scanlon without saying it directly makes the case Mueller was a failure and didn't do his job. His job was to charge Trump with a crime if there was evidence to prove it. Charge or not charge was Mueller's duty. He failed !!! She says there is evidence of crime. She disagrees with Mueller. His investigation and conclusions she disagrees with.

Barr is refusing to release grand jury material, which is against the law, and now he would also be breaking the law by releasing material covered by executive privilege.

It is the Democrats in Congress who are in contempt of the law.
