I think it IS possible a 5-4 vote could overturn Roe v Wade. How would the women in this country react to such a reality--a return to back-alley butchers?

Overturning Roe v Wade wouldn’t ban abortion nationwide. It’d just give control to the states. Women with options can vote with their feet and leave states like Alabama, Georgia, Ohio etc for more rational places. Abortion tourism will become the answer for those who are tied to a state that bans abortion and have the financial means to travel.

Women without options to will return to back alley butchers instead of being forced to have a child.

Ha!

So are Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio going to become 90% male? Get real.

Did I say they would? Do you disagree that some women with options to leave those states will leave? Or that they’ll travel to other states to get abortions?

Do you disagree that women without the financial means to do so will opt for back alley abortions?

It will be 6-3 to maintain abortion. Roberts and Kavanaugh will vote with precedent.

Yes, they would. Some without those illegal resources will attempt to abort by themselves. There will be abandoned newborns in dumpsters and public restrooms again, just like "the good ol days". You can force a woman to be pregnant but you can't force her to be a mother. These states are just asking for trouble and now they are going to get it.

The "precedent" is not valid. The plaintiff in the original case did not have legal standing to bring it to the Supreme Court in the first place. Time for a re-do. Return it to the states where it belongs.

There are newborns abandoned in dumpsters and public restrooms today (despite Safe Haven laws) so saying "again" isn't really meaningful, though one could certainly argue that there could be an increase.

It would be a huge hit to Women's health, and the ultimate end of the Republican Party's support from most women. Abortions aren't funded by federal dollars, but the treatment of perforated uterus, infections, and multiple other injuries certainly will be covered by public health dollars for a number of people.
