Not all of them.

GOP voters? Well, the Trumplings definitely. Fox News and hate radio addicts, too. The average Pub voter may not be in either of those groups.

GOP officeholders and party officials? Those boys KNOW what's ahead for their party. They are definitely in touch with the real world. And that's why they resort to ever more desperate measures to try to forestall the demographic and cultural future that'll end their minority rule.

They can only play for time.

Well, according to the April issue of Harper's magazine:

Fake news during the 2016 presidential election was shared by 18.1% of Republican Facebook users, but only 3.5 % of Democratic Facebook users.
I think anyone trying to drag us backward to the 50s is out of touch with the real world.

Did these "university" studies take into account what CNN does NOT report? You know..like positive stories about Trump?

The studies were taken long before Trump was elected. The questions asked were not about politics at all. Who is it that`s less likely to know the religion of the Dalai Lama? FOX viewers. Who are the people that are less likely to be able to locate South Carolina on a map? Fox viewers. Who are these people who are less likely to know the capitol of Canada? You guessed it. This is Forbes magazine, not Mother Jones.

I think anyone who thinks someone is trying to drag us backward to the 50s is out of touch with the real world.

It's always about policy.

A bigger indicator is that only 6% of Scientists ID as Republicans. That is an amazing stat........those who think in the more logical, reasonable and scientific manner......are not Republicans.

Makes perfect sense. You surely don't have to be a scientists to over-develop Florida or to buy some equipment and drill holes in the ground (you are relying on science others have developed).

But the statistic you quote may have some nuances.

Only a certain percentages of those who shared Fake News actually believed it! Some were outright liars...that is, they didn't't care about the means (lies), they only cared about the ends....

My take is more Republicans are that way. So it ends up good and bad...for example....

Maybe 3% of those Democrats were sincere and actually thought the fake news was real (they were ignorant to the facts). So only .5% were doing it for nefarious reasons.

As far as the Republicans, my take is many more intentionally spread it...even if they knew it wasn't true.

There is a difference, IMHO...as it not only means they are crazier and less scientific, but then it touches on that they are larger cheaters and some might say bordering on evil (depending on how you define it - but spreading lies, many of which could harm others, could be construed as such).

Is there a time period in modern history you would point to and say "that's when America was Great"??

The policy you speak of isn't just made up as we go...surely you can point to times and places where it was in force and worked over the decades?

After all, if a system and policies are not proven...then all you are talking about is making up stuff from scratch.
