I'm for free and easily accessible BC (and education) for anyone who wants it. We've had that discussion. It will not prevent 100 percent of unwanted pregnancies. I'm a realist.
Why are abortion rates highest in those 25-40? Do they not understand how sex works?

Right. And if people are having sex, shouldn't they have a sense of responsibility?

I would assume abortions are highest among that age group for 2 reasons: They’re having more sex than those under 25 and have higher fertility rates than those over 40.

Responsible people end pregnancies when they realize they are incapable of providing for a child whether that means financially or emotionally even if they didn’t use birth control or were unlucky and it failed.

Yes this.

I don't want irresponsible people having children they don't want.

Why not teach responsibility, self respect and common sense?

Having an abortion answers all 3 of those.

Again - perhaps your time is better spent working with your local schools to ensure those discussions are included along with birth control. They are not mutually exclusive.

Most folks are taught that. you’ve never made a mistake or do anything foolish? The best laid plans don’t always go that way

Again, the majority of abortions are in women 25 to 40. How do you suggest reducing the number of abortions in that age group?

Actually: Do you want to reduce the number of abortions? Maybe you don't. I haven't asked.

Or we could go back to how women were taught about sex in the good ole days:

Be responsible (Having sex is bad. If you do “it” you’re irresponsible.)

Have self respect (Having sex is bad. If you do “it” you have no self respect.)

Have common sense (Having sex is bad. If you do “it” you have no common sense.)

It’s so surprising women aren’t interested in this type of sex “education” anymore.

Ah good old fashioned puritanical self loathing, a founding principle of this nation!
