The Women's National Team lawsuit was filed earlier this year, it sure looks like a winner.
Quote:
The United States women’s national team is the best in the world and has been for decades. Since the FIFA Women’s World Cup was inaugurated in 1991, the United States has won three of the seven titles, including the most recent one in 2015.
The lawsuit’s timing may be dramatic, but it was the natural next step in a continuing dispute that centers on equal compensation. Members of the U.S.W.N.T. have been pursuing fair compensation for years, with only marginal improvement: The lawsuit asserts, for example, that from 2013 to 2016, if a male and a female national team player each played 20 exhibition games in a year, members of the men’s squad would have earned an average of $263,320, while members of the women’s squad would have earned a maximum of $99,000. The suit also claims that “during the period relevant to this case,” the women’s team earned more for U.S. Soccer than the men’s team did.
The mathematics is proving an unfairness but lest's take it one step further.
If a team of men attracts a crowd of 50,000 compared to a team of women attracting only 10,000
one can make a case. The fans, commercials and endorsements pay the wages and nothing more.................

But it's not the case which team has been and is more successful, which team represents the USA in a better light(winning) and which teams World Cup matches are all sold out,.............always! The Women.
Sigh...this has already been addressed numerous times by who knows how many media sources.
The men's soccer pulls in far, far more revenue than the women's soccer, it is not even close, talking numbers like 4 billion versus 100 million. There are tons of articles online covering this and other aspects. If women want the same pay, they are going to have to pull in the same revenue, it is pretty simple.
This lawsuit will go no where, at that, anyone can file with the EEOC, it means nothing regarding the legitimacy of a complaint.

Success as in winning, has zero, and I mean zilch, nada, nothing, to do with the pay in this regards.
The Women's FIFA actually gives a significantly higher percentage of revenue to women players than does the men's FIFA tournaments. The huge disparity in World Cup pay is that people tune in and pay more for tickets to the men's tournament.
People generally speaking want to watch the women's team less, because they aren't as good as the men. They aren't as fast or as skilled. The official US Women's World Cup team has a losing record against regional boy's teams that are much younger.
Does the local rock band playing local gigs deserve as much pay as the Red Hot Chilli Peppers if somebody wants to book both?
The men's team missed the world cup, which lowered their money brought in over that time period, but they brought in money that is distorted and hidden by your link...the TV rights for the CONCACAF qualifying. It is merged as one, but they are paying more for the men's team.

My little league team has a better record than the Yankees...we deserve more money.
I should start sprinting, then I would deserve equal pay to Usain Bolt.

That is not true at all the women’s team pulls in more revenue than the men yet are paid around 1/3 less than the men, did you bother to read the article. The soccer federation will lose if those numbers are correct. They have been one of the most successful teams in the world for decades brining in large amounts of revenue.

That’s a rather insulting comparison. Simple question, which team has brought in more revenue the last several years and who had more success, men or women. The men’s team never even qualified for the World Cup losing to Trinidad, it’s not even close.
