Paul Ryan is praising President Trump for energizing a base of voters who were not politically motivated before he came along. Ryan observes that Trump is "not taking any crap" and that he is "taking on political correctness and he's taking on fights that a lot of people want to see fought."
Former Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) offered some praise for President Trump, saying he’s energized a base of Republican voters who didn’t previously participate in politics.
“What I think people get excited about is he's not taking any crap,” Ryan said Sunday in a wide-ranging interview with PBS NewsHour’s Judy Woodruff. “I mean, he’s taking on political correctness, he’s taking fights that a lot of people want to see fought. The forgotten man that he speaks to is a person that finally feels like they’re being taken seriously, they’re being paid attention to. And he’s concerned about their issues.”
Ryan, who has not been Trump’s most ardent or consistent supporter, said the president's base is now "the guttural core” of the Republican party.
Of course Ryan is exactly right. My question and the question of a lot of other people is, why won't Republican leaders like Ryan join in and help out with these fights?
The Democrat left's "Political correctness" and "Identity politics" agenda (they are integrally linked together) are the greatest political evils that our country currently faces and they are a direct threat to the core values, principles and legal foundations that our country was built on.
But Republican leaders will not allow themselves to be sullied by getting involved in these essential and critical conflicts. Ryan praises Trump for his efforts - from way in the back of the peanut gallery. What is up with that?
Ryan is a little weasel who cowered in the House for two years because he was too cowardly to do his job. Who cares what he has to say now?
As for why the rest of the GOP is silent, no one wants to get Trump's stink on them. Weasel Ryan has nothing to lose any more, but a lot of these guys will be around after Trump is long gone, and will have to deal with the fallout. They saw the sentiment of the country shift dramatically against them in 2018, mostly due to Trump. Who can blame them for keeping their distance? It's actually a smart thing to do.

If by not putting up with crap you mean obstructing investigations and hiding the truth? How is that good for our country? If not taking crap you mean that Trump thinks he's a dictator and doesn't have to follow the rule of law, than how is that good for our country?
Can you explain to me why you think the Democrats political correctness and identity politics are the greatest threat to our core values and legal foundation? I need more information to understand your position because all I see right now is fear mongering and hyperbolic emotional thinking without any information to back up your position. I really want to understand why you feel this way.
As for Ryan? He didn't run again because he knew he would lose. Never forget, his big dream was to end social security. Do you want to give yours back? For Joe average the Republican's want rugged self reliance while they give their cronies buddies a big fat raise and corporate bail outs. If you have a choice between asking people to be civil to each other and helping Joe average vs Trump not taking any crap? I'll vote Democratic next year across the board.

What HeyJude said about Ryan is correct. Paul Ryan was indeed a little weasel who kept opposing Trump at every opportunity. I don't give a damn what Paul Ryan says or thinks, he was a Never Trumper, and I'm glad that pos is no longer Speaker of the House. Like Hillary and Obama, I'd like Paul Ryan to just go away.
