Whatever. They could just boycott it. Disney isn’t a Chinese company, and they have no obligation to appease Chinese fans although doing so would be smart. Big market.

But Americans don’t whine about how they cast people in Chinese films.

Disney is putting up the money, so they can miscast it as poorly as they want.

Boycott it if you’re offended.

I don’t care if they cast Burmese lepers in their films. None of my business.

It sounds like you may have a problem with Burmese Lepers. Just saying.

It sure does. The earliest known depiction of Jesus came from Syria, dated to 245 A.D. That is the portrait below. The second picture, with the Disciples, is from the Coptic Church in Cairo, Egypt, from about the same period. The third and fourth are a fresco from from Constantine's palace in the fourth century, with Jesus shown between Peter and Paul, and a detail of his face from the fresco. The last one is also from Egypt in the sixth century, and shows that Jesus miraculously turned white sometime after he left Constantine's palace.

If he did exist, and he lived in the area described in the Christian Bible, he was not at all white.

No, he was Middle Eastern and probably looked a lot like Middle Eastern people in that region today. Also, he was a blue collar worker. A carpenter in fact. And he lived before electricity.

A couple of things are suggested by that. First, since there was no air conditioning and no electric lights or electric appliances, it was not as compelling to be inside when the sun was out. Also, there were no power tools for carpenters to use.

From that I would project that he was probably pretty strong for his size, as he worked manually with his body and hands. Also, being out in the sun a lot, he likely had a pretty good tan, just like blue collar outdoor workers in our day frequently tend to have as well. So, he likely was noticeably darker in his skin tones that the indoor types from that region in our current time.

Just speculating. For the record, the Bible does not recognize different "races". That is a racist thing that current day racists obsess about. But as far as his skin pigmentation, he was Middle Eastern and therefore almost certainly looked like a Middle Easterner.

In those days, "carpenter" did not mean what it does today. The only trees anywhere nearby were olive, cedar, and sandalwood, none of which grows very large. A carpenter would have been someone who fashioned utensils, bowls, possibly stools from wood, but hardly anything much larger. Buildings were built of sticks and mud on his side of town, which would have been by the town dump if the present day village is still in the same place. It would have been the poor side of town, and food would have not been plentiful. No one in the area was large in those days according to the size of skeletons that have been unearthed from the period.

As to his being "Middle Eastern", do you mean like Saddam Hussein and his hellspawn, or more like Trump's buddy Mohammed Bone Sawman?

As for races, I heard quite a goodly number of Southern Baptists in the church where I grew up declare unequivocally that black skin is the Mark of Cain, and he and his descendents were turned black as punishment. The scriptures can be cherry picked to prove anything you want.
