I jumped but carried on, leaving him alone on the trail and only realized how close I'd come when I stripped down to go for a cooling swim in Georgian Bay and noticed two distinct punctures on the heel of my hiking boot.

Garter and other snakes, perhaps even a bigger Rat snakes I can handle buuut, other big snakes ……..'ultra thick depends' time fer sure.
Yes, snakes would also be hard for me to handle, luckily there are none where I live.
I would have the same problem as with spiders, I couldn't tell the dangerous ones and the harmless ones apart. Of course I would assume any 30ft snake poses a certain danger

I think it is one thing when hunters have to reduce the population of a certain species in order to prevent bigger problems.
But people killing animals for fun smacks of psychopathic behavior or other psychological problems. If they were my employees, I would fire them once they get back.

Why don't you show us a video of you walking into a pride of lions and slicing off a nice piece of wildebeest?

Except for the complete absence of anything remotely resembling "hunting" and all his friends and acquaintances now being aware he's a phony as far as real "hunting" is concerned.

Yeah, I guess there should be no surprise some would call that a win.

Some slob shoots a sleeping lion from a hundred yards away from inside an air conditioned Land Rover and this guy thinks that's worth "huzzahs all around"? Probably cheers a foul ball at a baseball game too.
