It will increase everybody's salary...

Since Reagans 40+ year old trickle down economy is a proven epic failure... its time to put the money into the workers hands again, to increase their spending and drive demand.
I keep going back to a living wage but that still doesn’t solve the issues.

First of all, the problem isn’t the insurance companies .... they are just a spoke in this crooked wheel. The system is rigged, and it is producing exactly what it intends to produce ... it produces profit by treating sick people. Does the system have any incentive to cure disease? NO. WELLNESS IS THE ENEMY, therefore, you cannot expect the system to cure disease, or promote wellness.

What we have is an unholy alliance between Big Pharma, the FDA and CDC, and the American Medical Cartel that has managed to secure an unprecedented monopoly on health.

Ever ask yourself why the FDA is the Food and Drug Administration? Why does one agency regulate both food and drugs? If you haven’t, you should. Here’s the answer ... they are the gatekeepers of both food and drugs. They decide what food is approved as safe and healthy, and what drugs are approved as safe and effective. Yet, if they were really doing their jobs properly ... a very large amount of the chemical ridden processed foods on the grocery shelves would not be there, because they make people unhealthy. The catch is, they also regulate the drugs that are approved to treat the unhealthy conditions people suffer, often from the unhealthy diet they have. So the food makes you unwell, and Banda bing, Banda boom, we have a drug to treat that little problem. And the wheel goes round and around.

You think this is a whacky conspiracy theory? Think again. Take a random processed food item off the grocery store shelf, and examine the ingredients.... you’ll likely see a long list of items you don’t even know how to pronounce, but what you won’t see is long list of vitamins and minerals. Now, go to the animal feed store, and look at the ingredients in cattle feed, and you’ll notice a very long list of vitamins and minerals. So why does human food contain almost none of those same vitamins and minerals that you find in cattle food? The answer is simple .... cows don’t have blue cross and blue shield... but humans do.

Think about that.

You’re preaching to the choir when it comes to eating right. My wife and I eat grass fed beef and buy organic foods. And we do our research on what we buy. We don’t just buy anything because it says organic, Non-GMO,etc on it.

I am no longer a young man, but I remember hearing this sort of mantra from conservatives going back to when I got my first job at 16...

I've been living in a state that has typically lead the way in terms of a higher minimum wage and all these many decades we've seen employment rates go up and down with little direct correlation to the minimum wage. Now too, we've got a very tight employment market with perhaps the highest minimum wage(s) across the country, and STILL conservatives argue the same sort of nonsense, regardless all history and proof to the contrary.

As GW Bush is famous for asking, "Rarely is the question asked, is our children learning?"

Fact is, we don't learn. We don't even reason.

And now he's going to cut his staff member's hours so he can pay them 15/hr.

Whats so bad about that? He wasnt aware that they were worked 60 hours a week with unpaid overtime which made their hourly wage lower than $15, so he made sure that they work the standard 40 hours and get at least $15 an hour for it.

Such a simple minded approach, all highlighted by your use of one simple word, "give."

People with jobs "EARN" money, its not just given away as if people are running charities.

Indeed this is another complicated issue that balances the pros and cons of free market forces with whatever helps those forces from becoming a serious problem for all concerned. Well..., maybe the problem is not so acute for those at the top of the economic food chain, but for those contending with a line forever long at the employment office with people willing to work for less, a minimum wage is not only a good idea but necessary. Hardly different from fair labor and work safety laws. Otherwise, too many millions of hard working people simply fall through the shoddy work place floor boards...
