Also - Charlotte is not predominately black or hispanic:

According to the most recent ACS (2019), the racial composition of Charlotte was:

White: 50.02%
Black or African American: 35.03%
Asian: 6.23%
Other race: 5.48%
Two or more races: 2.87%
Native American: 0.31%
Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander: 0.06%
Fair enough. Let's just say some are having a little heartburn over it.

Florida has extremely diverse demographics, and Republicans won the Florida Senate and Florida Governorship in 2018.

I didn't see that in the article.

Hate causes a lot of physical and mental problems, they'll just have to get over it.

Honestly .... that is no joking matter in trends stay heated by this Trump political climate and comments. Some things he should NEVER SAY. Think twice before he tweets.

But again. Never joke on what happened in the Dem Convention in Grant Park Chicago. It changed history and tarnished the city. It tarnished America in general.

Grant Park with Millennium Park added today is a tourist haven in Chicago today and the City's front lawn facing majestic Lake Michigan and the city's iconic growing skyline on three sides today.

Obamas win also was in Grant Park. It was the opposite of the 68 Convention thank God. We also have the Democratic Convention in Milwaukee to get thru too. 90-miles to the North of Chicago's Grant Park. Again, let's hope its much more peaceful though with only the usual protest etc.

The expense will be great for Charlotte and Milwaukee though .... in Police cost alone and more. But LET'S HOPE NO TROUBLE ..... and NEVER AGAIN LIKE 68. But sadly, the climate under Trump is at its highest since, for issues if the rhetoric continues.

Any city doing either of the conventions is stupid.

The extra security costs alone.
Likely riots.

Looks like the council members that voted against having it in Charlotte last year brought it up again in light of the new accusations against Trump but they know they can't back out.

This isn't second thoughts -- these are the same thoughts.

They did pass a resolution condemning Trump's comments.

No, Charlotte isnt.

There are some people that probably do not want it to be in Charlotte, but there are others that do want it to be in Charlotte. That area is a hotbed for northern transplants..they are likely the ones trying to make something out of nothing on this.

I don't blame them, frankly. It's an ignominious historical prospect.
