I don't blame him for buying a nice place on MV. Especially when the leading Democratic candidate for President, Joe Biden, is talking about Obama being assassinated.
At publishing time, Obama was seen fashioning a stack of hundred-dollar bills into a makeshift barrier to stop the oceans when they rise from climate change.

I don't think Obama's climate change initiatives had anything in it about don't live in a mansion if you can afford it. But I'm sure people believe that he killed coal so he could live nice. IMO The Obama's have contributed much more to the USA, black America, and the world for that matter than Beyonce. And nobody is in complaining about her 88 million dollar home. Its kind of racist to me. As long as black people are shuffling and jiving its okay to be rich.

That said - this thread is about our carbon footprint. The number one way to reduce our carbon footprint is not be wealthy.

It is true that wealthy people leave a much bigger carbon footprint than the average joe. We aren't flying around on private jets; own 10 cars, etc.
The homeless population on Martha's Vineyard as well as those inhabitants severely marginalized by income inequality
will never give them a moments peace .
I just hope the secret service will be able to keep them far enough away that they won't have to look at them.
