I think you're missing Jojajn's point. He's saying the cost of having loose gun laws in this country is 335 lives, balanced against the benefit of 1 foiled robbery. Now I'm sure there have been many more cases of crimes prevented by people with guns, but if we add in also the hundreds or thousands of family and friends killed accidentally each year I am sure the balance would favor tighter gun control.
The other thing I want to push back on is all of the posters here calling this shop owner a hero. I am not disputing his right to protect his life and property. However, in a flash he appointed himself judge, jury and executioner. Decided the thug was guilty, sentenced him to death then carried out the sentence. Armed robbery normally carries a sentence of 10-20 in prison, not the death penalty.
But the criminal could have bought a gun just like he can buy heroine.
Are you going to say heroine laws keep people who want heroine from buying it?
Very telling what anti-freedom, anti-constitution, anti-liberty, anti-innocent people protecting theirselves, pro-criminal, pro-tyranny people refuse to address or answer in this thread. It's the same thing every time.
Irrational opinions based on emotion, rather than logic have no solid ground to stand on.
Thankfully, there are FAR more rational, logical people in this country who understand the importance of the constitution, and the importance of the rights we all should seek to protect. We are EVERYWHERE. And we are not going away. In fact, more and more everyday people are waking up to the lies they have been fed and the ways their emotions have been manipulated.
And that is a very good thing.
Truth will always prevail in the end.
On every thread about mass shootings, someone chimes in with, "why don't you mention Chicago, what about Chicago?" ..etc...
Did you ever think there maybe a reason for that?

What, don't like it that they are not all white nazi's?

You absolutely can play it both ways, you and your leftist buddies do it all the time.....
ANd ohhhh, the NRA meme....that's just as bad as RUSSIA COLLUSION, get a new talking point....

I don't know, but I do know there were 11 CHILDREN killed in drive by shootings within 3 months in St. Louis....<<<<<<<<Fix this and the possibility that gun violence goes down. But you don't care about that, those single killings don't matter to you.
Tell us wise one, what does the NRA have to do with those shootings?
^^^ Do you believe we should do away with all drug laws then? So expensive providing those who use those drugs with public defenders, court time, jail time, and rehab.
No, we should make more laws, that way those drug addicts really will listen to those laws.....
You blew your own narrative of more laws will do something.....you did not even know you did that.....
Property rights are absolute. Say it over and over again.
And when I acquire my property through moral and logical means, whether that be a gun or the soil under my feet for my body to shelter itself, there is no compromise.
You're beginning to turn in to bawacs #3, right behind rebeldor.
Expect a big drop in area crime. But I hope the knuckle dragger DA of Philly doesn't try to charge the employee. A police officer would fire 10 rounds and every other cop present would fire 10 rounds and it would considered a reasonable action. Trained professional police officers would be in the clear. But an untrained citizen firing more than a few shots would be looked at for using " excessive deadly force". That is just not right.
The point is that drug laws don't work and neither will gun laws.
Please explain how gun laws will magically work and why this magic hasn't been used on drug laws.
Why do we have laws at all?
Why not just have a country like Somalia where the person with the biggest gun rules?

Somalia's last effective central government fell 14 years ago, since when the land has been fought over by warlords. The country is leaderless, a machine-gun the only respected authority, and the capital, Mogadishu, is in complete disorder.

Weapons are freely available. Each town has its own gun market where anyone with $200 (£110) can buy an AK47. "There are no laws," says Abdi Nasser, a driver. "We are in a country where no one can control anyone else. People here fight every hour, it's a regular thing."

So I assume you are vehement that the USA government cannot take Texas farmer's and rancher's land to build that silly wall, right?
Why aren’t you equally outraged by drug deaths, traffic accidents, medical errors? Any of these things claim more lives than gun all crime deaths.
^^^Deflection!
