I can’t wait until Elizabeth Warren gives McCabe a pardon. Trump will stroke out.

Since it wasn't a coup, no. Why? Trump lied about business deals with Russia, his campaign lied about over 100 contacts with Russia. Then Trump obstructed justice multiple times. Trump had many people on his campaign plead guilty to crimes and multiple Russians indicted.

Trump is doing everything to not release his financial documents. There are many intelligence findings that lead them to investigate that the public may never know about. So Comey and McCabe had a responsibility to investigate why Trump was lying and siding with a foreign adversary over his own intelligence. Why Trump was meeting with Putin and refuse to talk about the meeting. There is a laundry list of actions that Trump and his campaign displayed that would make anyone question this president's loyalty to his country and citizens. After all, he is a liar that lied about Stormy Daniels, the Access Hollywood tape and a number of other issues.

Comey and McCabe are Republicans. I know that doesn't fit the radical right's spin factor but it's true. Trump is treating the White House like a Mob ring. Even the GOP knows it. Look at Graham, he couldn't stand Trump at all, but because he wants to keep his seat he is willing to smell the poop and smile. Same with Cruz. It's very shameful. It's not partisan at all. Trump is simply a bad person that has caused a lot of reputational and credibility damage.

If Flynn can be indicted, then McCabe certainly needs to be indicted... Even if they have exculpatory evidence to the contrary.

Still trying to hijack this thread to be about Trump eh?
There were no charges against Trump and no sealed indictments, the olc memo is not law so stop trying to use that as an excuse.

This thread is about McCabe and Clinton.

It is irrefutable that they were spying on the Trump campaign, that is not up for debate.

You can use the term, "under surveillance", but that term the same as spying.

Barr is absolutely correct, they were in fact spying on the Trump campaign.

Three years later, and we still haven't seen any credible evidence that would be justification for the spying/surveillance.

Maybe they have decided not pursue any additional charges that they were considering, so they are now willing to move on the false statements charges.

Another way to look at it would be.
Trump won 30 states to Hillary's 20.

Trump won 2626 counties to Hillary's 487.

In short Hillary won big cities and lost just about everything else.

This is all diversion from the House opening an Impeachment Inquiry today. Ain't gonna work.
You are correct - there is plenty of precedent that nothing will come from any of this. In fact, the US Attorney in charge (Jessie Liu in the D.C. State Attorney office) has managed to flub two cases recently from the OTeam that got slaps on the wrist - the Craig case & the James Wolfe case. The worst that might happen to McCabe is that he spends 2 months in a Country Club "prison" with a $7,000 fine and 'community service' during a short probation. That was the James Wolfe sentence and he gave Secret FISA info to his lover to publish.

In the matter of McCabe - he hasn't been indicted yet, even though the Office of Inspector General presented a referral to the DOJ and the FBI Office fired him. McCabe's own Lawyer group was shocked that he might be indicted.

Thoughts on the Impending Prosecution of Andrew McCabe - Benjamin Wittes - Lawfare
I confess that this story shocks me.

The New York Times reported yesterday that “Federal prosecutors in Washington appear to be in the final stages of deciding whether to seek an indictment of Andrew G. McCabe, the former deputy F.B.I. director and a frequent target of President Trump, on charges of lying to federal agents.†Reporter Adam Goldman declares that,

In two meetings last week, Mr. McCabe’s lawyers met with the deputy attorney general, Jeffrey A. Rosen, who is expected to be involved in the decision about whether to prosecute, and for more than an hour with the United States attorney for the District of Columbia, Jessie K. Liu, according to a person familiar with the meetings. The person would not detail the discussions, but defense lawyers typically meet with top law enforcement officials to try to persuade them not to indict their client if they failed to get line prosecutors to drop the case.

Let me translate this paragraph for you: Such meetings generally take place when indictment is imminent; they happen when the government plans to bring charges. You should thus expect charges against McCabe to be forthcoming any day.

These indictments will be based on the IG report and will be (based on that report) one count of 18USC§1001 (lacking candor not under oath, 1 year max) and three counts of 18USC§1621 (lacking candor under oath—perjury, 5 years max), all concerning leaks to NYT. Max penalty 16 years in prison. Don’t think there will be a jury trial under those circumstances, as he has no factual defence given the IG report’s underlying documentation. He will plead guilty in return for a light sentence and full cooperation on all future Spygate criminal prosecutions. He already said he isn’t going down alone..

It's rumored (can't post a reliable link) that the Grand Jury has been called back into session (they had just been released). Like him or not - the guys leading the DOJ today (Bill Barr & Rosen) are very, very sharp Lawyers who have an excellent understanding of both Law and what they can prosecute. Jessie Liu - not so much, she is a member of the Old Guard (McCabe, Comey, Brennan, Ohr, Lynch) - BUT, she is probably aware this is her last shot and young enough to want to save a career. Lot's of heat fell on both Barr and Liu for not bringing charges against McCabe - Witte (also very smart attorney) understood on August 27 that those charges were still probably coming.

The fact that McCabe was afforded an 18 month back-and-forth debate on his legal position contrasts starkly against SWAT and FBI raids against those he targeted. It indicates a Two Tiered Justice System and bottom line is that the DOJ has to make sure the public understands that can't stand.

Timing?? I think it builds on the Horowitz report on Comey (that the Democrats are refusing to give Horowitz a hearing), the former reports on McCabe and the coming Durham Report .... which is the most serious. Building Blocks and it takes a lot of time and a LOT of paperwork to get a ton of Ducks in a Row and go to Court (and the Public) for a case against former Heads of Law Enforcement Agencies.

I think Nadler and Nancy/Chuckie are aware this is falling in ..... which helps to explain the "breaking news" this week that Nadler is doing a Non-Constitutional Impeachment hearing that is (according to Nancy) not an Impeachment hearing at all. Attempt to suck the air out of the room. My opinion of course ... and Time will Tell. They can't sweep this one under the rug when the Durham Report hits and it will.

It is about time.

Here we go....
Had a hard time finding this thread.

Not a real popular topic with the ole libs. I'll read through and see how many denials...

Given that we have a liar-in-chief for President who hasn’t found a petty grudge too small in his life and his personal liar and lackey Barr for AG, anything else would have been shocking. Now - all they need is a judge from the Liberty University, and they will even make it stick.
Waa! Tell it to the Judge!
