So almost ALL DEMOCRATS believe we have less than 11 years left due to climate change, but have done absolutely nothing about combating climate change!!
California is in a big fight with Trump over Obama’s CO2 emission standards over the next 25 years. They will reduce CO2 emissions by 32% in 25 years. TOMORROW, the Governor of California can reduce CO2 emissions in California by 30% by simply reducing the California the speed limit to 55 MPH. He doesn’t need ANYBODIES permission!!
Why is he fighting Trump without taking action on his own?? Democrats control over 70% of the miles driven in this country. California, Washington, Oregon can start reducing CO2 emissions by a huge amount tomorrow. The other Democrat controlled states can follow suit.
In Washington state, Governor Inslee and the Democrats gave Boeing 10 BILLION dollars in “illegal” tax breaks according to the WTO. Given the awful impact of jet travel on climate change isn’t it time to rescind the tax breaks and put additional CLIMATE CHANGE TAXES on Boeing to discourage air travel. Democrats control both houses of the Legislature and the Governors office. Republicans cannot stop it.....why are Democrats refusing to fight climate change by removing the tax breaks??
Democrats like carbon taxes and cap and trade which will raise gasoline prices in the neighborhood of SEVEN dollars a gallon. Devasting to rural areas without public transit, but in blue urban area it would have a huge impact on climate change and the money could be used for public transit. So why NOT local urban gas taxes of two and three dollars a gallon to get started??
In Seattle, the Clinton got 90% of the vote in 2016. That is how liberal the city is in its political outlook.
Surely, if the Democrat leadership starts implementing these proposals the blue states will support and cheer these changes....and they don’t NEED TRUMP!!
Time for the Democrats to get serious about climate change and set a good example for the rest of the country.

They like their lifestyle more than their beliefs.... CO2 is going to kill us and then buy an SUV..... CO2 is going to kill us and then ordering a hamburger.... CO2 is going to kill us and then buying as much carbon and toxic producing items as possible... Nevermind the constant buying of water bottles ...
If they drive an electric or hybrid SUV, their preaching is a bit less hypocritical.

People will still be here in eleven years. No scientist except for an occasional crank or two has said otherwise. The problem is that if we do not start to significantly reduce CO2 emissions by 2030 at the latest, we will have locked in a world wide warming that will produce a planet which is anywhere from 5 - 10 degrees warmer than what it was prior to the industrial revolution. This may not sound like much, but the last time the planet was that hot was 3 million years ago during what geologists call the PETM. The PETM mass extinction killed something like 97% of the life forms which populated the planet at the time. We will be no different than the dinosaurs were back then. By-by humans, you won't be missed.

Trump is pathological. He hates Cali because they didn't vote for him and because it is Democratic stronghold. If the California government implemented a 55mph speed limit, you can be sure that Trump would order the EPA or some other like agency to declare that illegal as well.
The same thing would happen with any attempts to implement cap and trade laws which would indeed be very expensive with Trump refusing to let any carmaker and any state to implement the technology which would allow cars to get 60 mpg and up. Trump has also written off the ethanol program.
We of the blue states are doing the best we can to go it alone carbon reduction wise, but Trump and his unholy army of climate deniers are making it extremely difficult. Yours is at best a cute idea that might work in fairy tale land. Alas, we live in the real word.
The climate change debate is just a political power play, where they can virtue signal and wag their finger in the face others. While doing this, dems do little to nothing to actually improve the situation, because most of the pollution is coming from elsewhere, like China and India. But of course, it's Trump's and Republican's fault this is happening, like every other problem lefties can thing of to complain about.
It's too late. Nobody can turn what is happening to the planet around.

There is no way to keep 3 billion people with essentially zero footprint living in the stone age. They want to live like us, and nothing will stop their expanding footprint.
The small reductions made by western countries will barely make a dent in what's coming.
