Remember during the Bush years all the anti-war protests? Remember how they disappeared when Obama was elected?

Never said they started the wars. My point was which party administration was in charge when US troops were sent off to war. My topic also didn’t include which wars were valid and just and which weren’t. By most criteria the only valid war for US involvement was WW2 and Afghanistan following the 9/11 attacks. All other wars could be questioned and easily debated to have had no US involvement.

Its easy to identify the warmongers in our federal government, the vast majority have either a D or R after their name.

Some of those anti-war protest did continue,...it was the press coverage that ended. It’s like when Regan and Bush were president and the news covered homeless and soup kitchens to blame Regan and Bush and when Clinton all those soup kitchen stories ended even though those homeless and soup kitchens never ended during Clinton’s presidency.

IMO...

This is strictly from memory:

Nixon successfully ran on a pro law enforcement agenda in 1968; thereby, cementing that issue to the Republican Party. His campaign also connected the Democratic Party with the lawlessness that seemed prevalent at that time, which associated the Democrats to a weakness on enforcing the law.

This laid the foundation for Ronald Reagan to run on a strong military agenda in order to defend democracy from the USSR, an agenda his campaign stole from the Democrats. The failure of a military extraction of the Iranian hostages during the Carter Administration solidified the weak on national defense views that people had with the Democrats.

Although the GOP had the 'strong on national defense' label they still didn't have the warmonger label. I believe that Reagan's invasion of Grenada (for heaven's sake) and G.H.W. Bush's invasion of Panama sealed the deal on the warmonger label for many people at that time.

Now, I don't think they have that label anymore.

Yes, those 'anti-war' bloggers didn't care about anything.

Now they are elite writers for Vox, MSNBC, and the Huffington Post promoting Democratic party power.

Its all a big joke.

During the Bush years, people said, “Remember all the anti-war protests in the Vietnam years? Where are they now?”

This is when Paul Wolfowitz, Elliott Abrams, the Kristols, etc. switched from being Democrats to being Republicans.

If you believe this, i suggest you go back and read some history books.

The US didnt really choose to enter WWI as much as Germany forced our hand, making promises to Mexico and basically admitting they would never stop their conquest. Eventually, America was going to be their target.

On WWI, while I’m not sure where I stand on if America should have intervened, Woodrow Wilson having campaigned on “He Kept Us Out of War” makes me see his decision to enter the war as a betrayal of his voters.
