There is no crime . Asking the Ukraine president to look into corruption by a Dem candidate is nothing. We might as well impeach everybody

If it moves on to the Senate most Repubs and some Dems will vote acquittal. And that’s the end of that
You still don't get it, do you?

Yes, there are legal channels which must be followed, but I don't think much time will be wasted, and I doubt your conclusions re acquittal are accurate. As more and more comes out, the public has less and less patience and tolerance for this kind of corruption in the highest office of our land.

Again, it's not just the looking into corruption but what accompanied the requested look. There's plenty available right now to clarify how that works - check it out, and don't just rely on the right-wing media. Look at the older, pre-Trump, unbiased sources about the Constitution, impeachment quid pro quo, and what constitutes an impeachable offense.

And Trump still screwed it up.

That's been the motif of the Trump Presidency from the beginning.

He ... simply ... cannot ... understand.
Remember during his first week in office, when Trump had a phone call with some other head of state who was newly installed by less than democratic means? Trump's assistants told him NOT to congratulate the other HoS. They even wrote it in (Sharpie, likely) big print on notecards and put it on his desk by the phone: "DO NOT CONGRATULATE MR. X!!"

Guess who got congratulated by Trump?

This from Trump’s press conference today:

It was a simple question:

(What did you want from Zelensky?)

asked with respect by one of the most decent and fair reporters in Washington.

This is the crux of the matter!

Trump didn’t answer the question

1- It’s now obvious to even Trump that asking for a favor from Zelensky is illegal

1- “Stable Genius” didn’t know that that is a crime when he committed it. Somebody explained it to him.

UPDATE: "Support for impeaching Trump hits new high"

https://www.politico.com/news/2019/1...support-016403

"A batch of recent polling confirms the Democratic impeachment push is gaining steam — including a new POLITICO/Morning Consult survey that shows for the first time that more voters support than oppose proceedings to remove Trump from office."

Revealing - and sadly, typical. Thanks for sharing this for those of us who missed the pc.

Trump puts a hold on military aid to Ukraine that Congress has appropriated.

Giuliani travels to the Ukraine several times over two months trying to get something stirred up.

There's nothing to stir up. The investigation is over. It was determined that Biden was not involved in any corruption. He joined the board several years after the incident that was investigated.

The prosecutor that was fired for incompetence and corruption was at the insistence of numerous entities. We could go on, but the bottom line is there was nothing to investigate about Biden.

So Trump, apparently frustrated with Giuliani's ineptitude, tries to get something going.

During a phone conversation the Ukraine President brings up military equipment he would like the U.S. to provide and Trump responds with, “I would like you to do us a favor though,”

There is absolutely no national interest in dragging Biden's son's name through the mud.

Trump is asking a foreign nation to help him with his campaign.

This is illegal.
Lots of talk by Trumpers that this is some Democratic Play Book again being followed. It's sorta the other way around.

This is Trump's attempt to follow the Play Book where Clinton's poll numbers fell sharply right before the election when Comey announced he was reinvestigating.

RudyG's conspiracy theories may engage the Base but they are less persuasive among other voters. His going on various shows to rant and wave papers in the air only goes so far.

Trump's shrewd like this. He needed more. An investigation that has Hunter Biden's name attached to it.

Asking for a crime that was admit ed to by a person, to be investigated, is illegal? If that is the case then I dont blame Trump for not realizing that.

Biden did not commit a crime.

That's the problem. Giuliani couldn't come up with anything because there was nothing to come up with.

Why is that so hard to understand?

Why is Trump so interested in corruption in the Ukraine?

Given that several of his employees and appointees are in prison or facing prison, you'd think his interest in rooting out corruption would be closer to home.
