Been following the case off and on for awhile. He just strikes me as being a dumbchit, should never have been a cop.

Obviously he failed to do many things by the book.
He'll get 3-8 the family a few million and a nice headstone.

Fewer people in Texas carry than you might think. Best estimate places it at no more than 1% of the population.

Police officers are in the line of danger every day. He perceived a threat. In a ghetto neighborhood when someone points a gun at you, that is a threat. The now former officer may have a legitimate, defensible case.
This verdict is an absolute disgrace. Aaron Dean needed to walk free. The liberal media wants to make Atatiana Jefferson into some sort of saint. She pointed a gun at a police officer in the ghetto. This is not a good human being.

Botham Jean was not a saint either. He was pals with Joshua Brown, a known drug dealer who later got killed. That verdict was also a disgrace too as Amber Guyger needed to walk free as well.

A bogus manslaughter conviction is superior to a bogus murder conviction.

We're now putting police officers in jail for doing their jobs to satisfy some woke contingent. This is sad.

He shot a woman who was in her house and had no reason to expect that someone would be pointing a gun at her from outside of her house. This has nothing to do with liberal or conservative or right or left, it has to do with common sense.

Police don’t get to go into fenced yards, in the middle of the night, fail to identify themselves as LEO, and then kill the occupant of the home who is 100% legally and morally justified in having her own weapon as a result of the threat posed by the LEO.

I’ll agree - the verdict was a disgrace. However, the only disgraceful thing about it is that there WAS a verdict. The stupid LEO needed to have ended up DRT in the yard. He was damn lucky to walk out of there alive.

The war on cops is only going to bring more crime and chaos. Instead of prosecuting cops they should be making sure all cops are better trained and competent. Now cops know if they make a mistake they could go to prison. Who is going to want to be a cop?

A mistake is locking your keys in the car. A mistake is filling out the wrong form. A mistake is not holstering your firearms properly.

Shotting someone in the middle of the night when they are in their own house is not a mistake.

You act as if chasing away the ones who think they need the right to murder (that's the crime we're talking about) with impunity is a bad thing. I'd say they need to be the first ones out of the applicant pool.

What is it with cop bootlickers and victim-smearing? Cops do not get to shoot people in their homes even - and this is an important point - even if said people do not qualify as "good human beings" in your eyes.

Gunning down people in their homes is not the job of law enforcement.
