But I wonder what would have happened if the person killed had been white. In my state about 15 years ago a cop shot a guy who wouldn't drop a knife when told. The cop who shot Laquan McDonald under the same circumstances got prison. Then about 10 years ago a cop shot a guy with a shovel who refused to drop the shovel. No charges in either case. Guess what color the guys who got shot were? There were no riots and no buildings got burned down.
You keep skating around the fact that the cop violated procedure. He never announced. And when he yelled for her to raise her hands, he never gave her time to do so. He shot immediately. He screwed up. So he has to pay for killing an innocent woman who was just playing video games with her nephew. She did nothing wrong. Yet, she is dead. Anyone would be alarmed when they find someone in their back yard looking in their window. She had no way to know that he was a cop.

“Assumed” there was a prowler? Seriously? Dean broke into her backyard. She knew there was someone there, who wasn’t invited and shouldn’t have been there. Why would say that she assumed there was a prowler?

WTH does that sentence mean?

This isn’t a racial issue. This is a stupid cop murders an innocent civilian issue. The races of the respective parties don’t change any of the underlying issues.

Dean wasn't under any threat either, except the threat in his mind. What if it was a cell phone she was holding, and it "looked like a gin"?. Police are paid to take risks, and need to do so before employing deadly force.
