My daughter got home one day and her front door was standing open. She called the cops first and then me. I lived several miles away. By the time the cops got there, I had done a walk through of her place and made sure no one was in there. When they found out that no one was in her house, the cops left without even making a report.

I have and you keep ignoring it. I am hoping you and the other cop haters here are really just Chinese trolls.

I only asked once, so maybe humor me and post it again. I don’t hate cops, but they need to be accountable if they kill innocent people.

It is very reasonable to support police officers and yet think that individual officers should be held accountable for there actions.

Everyone who thinks the cop was guilty is basing it on a false premise.
She was perfectly within her rights to have a weapon. The cop was completely wrong for shooting when he didn't know his target. The cop is guilty.

No. Because you have been believing the fake news. It was not a welfare check - it was a possible burglary.

The Fort Worth officer who shot Atatiana Jefferson wasn’t actually asked to do a wellness check

When Atatiana Jefferson’s neighbor called police, he says he expected them to go check to see if she was OK.
But the officer who shot her in her own home was sent on a call that police often handle as a potential burglary.
Authorities are looking into what former Fort Worth police officer Aaron Dean and his partner were told before arriving to Jefferson’s home.
“The information came from the neighbor to the call-takers and while it was relayed to the dispatch, it was determined to be an open structure call,” Fort Worth interim Police Chief Ed Kraus told reporters on Tuesday.
Experts say that classification escalated things beyond a welfare check, and meant the officers would respond differently.
It could have been a burglary or other crime

Many times a welfare check involves a medical emergency, an elderly person living alone or a relative who is difficult to get a hold of.
For those calls, police officers usually knock on someone’s door and wait for an answer. But the mindset of a police officer changes when they hear it’s an “open structure” or “open door” call
It's easy to find the real facts if you search a bit. But people won;t because they have been so brainwashed into hating cops. Because the fake news has been implying and lying for years that 'cops hunt down and kill unarmed black people every day." Here - read some Heather Mac Donald:

Even with that being the cause it still doesnt give the officer the right to shoot at a random person in the house window.

Even if it had been a burglary. How did he know that the person in the window wasnt the person living there and had gotten away from the burglar. She saw someone outside her house and went to get their attention?

In a previous post where I brought up one of the safety rules about knowing what you are shooting at you stated that he knew what he was shooting at, a person with a gun. Turns out he didnt know what he was shooting at because she didnt have a gun.

So the cop shouldn't assess the situation when he arrives?

I thought you guys always claimed CNN was fake news?? Only when it suits you?

To me it sounds like the dispatcher misrepresented the call. Nothing there indicates what the caller himself requested. In fact the article says this:

Jefferson’s neighbor told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that he was worried to see a front door open late at night, so he called a non-emergency police line. But he didn’t mention a potential burglary.

So again, it was the dispatchers relaying the call that didn't relay it accurately. It goes on to say that he told them both cars were there so the neighbors were home, so just that information should have been enough for them to be cautious rather than just firing at the first thing that moves.

You are so hyperbolic. No one hates cops, no one hates America, or any of the other extreme views you keep pretending we're espousing,
