British doctor's are paid well, the equivalent of low 6 figures in american dollars. They aren't paupers
Low six figures isn't really that much these days. And it's definitely not hard to attain here. You could be in sales and make that easy.
It's not bad, but 100k is way different than 100k 25-30 years ago.
OTOH If you're telling me a London doctor makes the equivalent of $125kish in American dollars, that's actually terrible for a huge global city. Why go to medical school at all, or want to be a doctor?
Here, a general doc makes about $175k. Specialists are the ones who make the big big bucks. Anywhere from $400k to well into the millions.

Not that hard? You realize that $100k/year puts you in the top 5% of earners in this country?

No, 100k isn't that hard I was there by 34.
And still, British doctors aren't paid well. Low six figures isn't great for a doctor, let alone one in London or any other large city there.
I'd rather have the American doctor who makes $2-3 million a year doing my heart or brain surgery versus one in Europe who makes a fraction of that, I sure don't know about you.

That $2 million to $3 million is paid for by bankrupting the patients
People still get huge bills after insurance. How many people do you know that have zero deductible plans? The only one I knew is dead now
Yes especially after the ACA became law. The most misnamed law ever. hahaha
