It’s going to hand the republicans a victory in an election year, but the poor democrats can’t look past their hatred into the future. The senate will hand Trump another victory to propel his election chances. And if the economy remains strong (record stock market today) then that’s further trouble for Dems.

I can’t believe they would be foolish enough to bring impeachment into an election year, with the stock market at all time highs, unemployment rate at 60 year lows, the economy churning along. All while refusing to sign the USMCA that will improve our economy and our economic relationships with our neighbors.

False. A majority of Americans support the inquiry. They don't want the Ukraine situation to be swept under the rug; in fact, they want the opposite.

Yup. They are so lost as a party. Making really foolish strategic decisions.

It's troubling to see and they will see the effects of it with Trump most likely re-elected come 2020.

They're still figuring out exactly what the charges in the articles of impeachment are going to be, so of course they haven't voted on them yet.
Correct. Of course the House has to think about it for a while. Few presidents have been so naughty that the House has actually had to consider charging them with misconduct and what misconduct they specifically need to be charged with. Out of the 45 presidents, only 2 were impeached. Nixon faced impeachment but resigned before facing it. So the House hasn't had a lot of experience with this kind of thing.

There is no polling or other evidence that that is happening and even if it were, the House must do its Constitutional duties regardless of the consequences. No president should be allowed to just walk away untarnished for bribery and extortion of foreign governments for his personal political benefit. We have to nip this here or Trimp's abuse of power will become standard practice in future adminstrations and our democracy will be at risk. You can't see this with your bias, I know, but history will judge Pelosi and the Democrats for whether they stood for the nation or not.

Wait hasn't the party who brought the impeachment always won the next presidency?

You add all of the silly more boutique issues that people like Warren mentions, things like being for paying for transsexuals in prison sex change operations and it really adds to the out of touch element.

I've got a co-worker that is about as far left as they come and even he's like, yeah, let's stop worrying about silly issues that don't affect the vast majority of people. Kitchen table bread and butter stuff and how to improve the day to day life of the average citizen should be the message and agenda pushed. Not healthcare for illegals and decriminalizing illegal border crossings, crap like that should be near the bottom of the list in my opinion.

Only if it's revealed who voted Yea and who voted Nay.

Is it a roll-call vote, meaning each House member will individually announce his vote, and each Rep's name and vote will be recorded and published so we know who voted which way?

Or is it merely a "Voice Vote", meaning they will merely count raised hands (or electronic Yes/No votes) and report the totals, but we'll never find out who voted which way?

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/28/u...ena-house.html

Breaking News Update: The House plans to take its first formal vote Thursday on the impeachment inquiry into President Trump, Democratic leaders said Monday, ushering in a new phase as they prepare to go public with their investigation into his dealings with Ukraine.

Democrats described the vote, in which they plan to “affirm” the inquiry, as a necessary next step to be able to push it forward, rather than a response to sustained criticism from Republicans and the White House, who have accused them of throwing out past impeachment precedents and denying the president due process rights.

But it will be the first time that the full House has gone on record with regard to an inquiry that has been underway since late September. And it comes after Democrats have insisted for weeks that they did not need a formal vote of the full House to authorize the proceedings.
