Rand Paul throws away his libertarian views and goes full Trumpster.

Paul blocked a resolution protecting whistleblowers.

Rand Paul afraid of the people of Kentucky.

There's nothing libertarian about accepting anonymous allegations without giving the individual the right to face their accuser and have them publicly questioned.

As usual, Rand Paul is standing up for individual rights against the state and that makes collectivists angry.

It looks like a RICO case.
It's not a leak.
It's about being able to question your accuser.
Just like Biden should be able to face this same person.

Spoiler
you can't.
Covered in the Inspector General Act.

Inspector General Act says that agency watchdogs “shall not, after receipt of a complaint or information from an employee, disclose the identity of the employee without the consent of the employee".

Yeah, that means that the IG can't disclose the identity, it doesn't cover anyone else doing so. Anyone else that wants to blow the whistle on the "whistleblower" is free to do so.

Just look at CityData. The whistleblower’s name has been out on this forum for a while now. I’m sure there are even thread titles with his name on it.

No he didn’t. He is being principled because the 6th amendment guarantees the accused the right to confront their accuser.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixt...s_Constitution
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.[1]

I guess you glossed over the first 4 words of the Sixth Amendment. Meh - I’m sure the were totally superfluous anyway.

It should still apply to impeachment proceedings, which is the same as a public trial.
