Can someone tell me what the end game is with regard to the impeachment hearings?
Assuming that articles of impeachment are passed by the House and there is a Senate trial following which Trump is acquitted and remains in office, what has really been accomplished?
Impeachment is a constitutional remedy to deal with egregious conduct by a president but there must be some expectation that if one resorts to this extreme measure, there is at least some likelihood that he will be removed from office. We are not going to see 20 Republican senators voting to remove Trump.
AOC is the only Dem who told the truth. She stated it was to "prevent" Trump from winning in 2020.
