If Republicans want witnesses with first hand knowledge, they need to demand that those with first hand knowledge step up.
We already have statements from the two primary participants who have first hand knowledge: Trump and Zelensky. Both say there was no QPQ, no pressure, no extortion, no bribe, and the Ukraine got their aid without doing anything in return for it. There's nothing there. Meanwhile, the Dems continue acting the fools in a very public way.
If I hear Bob say that he is going to kill his wife when he is talking to John, and he tries to do so, I will probably be called to court to give that testimony. That is me hearing first hand about a murder plot.

That's the whole Republican "defense" of Trump in a nutshell: blow smoke and muddy the waters. Call the impeachment a sham, smear and belittle the witnesses, complain it's all unfair, etc. Lots of hand waving.
You know what's missing? Strong statements declaring Trump innocent. Where's Pence? We haven't heard him say, "I know for a fact the president is not guilty of these charges." Same with McConnell.
The burden of proof is on the democrats. If and when little boy schiff comes up with something perhaps a “defense” would be warranted.
But you know this. Yesterday was it for this dog and pony show. The only thing missing is for Pelosi to turn out the lights. Your party is over.

Alas, neither one was testifying under oath, and Trump is an unreliable historian.
According to the summary of the phone call, Trump asked Zelensky to do him a favor before receiving millions in security aid authorized by Congress.
Sounds like we need to see the actual transcript of the actual call.
Is there a timeline for this show to end and the House votes and sends it to the Senate.
I don't want that idiot Schiff to waste another $30M on this stupid antic when democrats can choose well, campaign well and take the WH in a year.
