Where have conservatives gone who have given up on the Republicans party?

Quite a few have said they can no longer support the direction the party has headed. So are they just out there floating, waiting in the wings for someone to unite them?

where can a conservative go to find a political party with conservative values?
If you are a conservative, I'm Donald Duck.

Something tells me that you won't be satisfied until you are securely someplace to the left of AOC, even if you are nodding toward the rhetoric of pseudo-conservatives and subversives like Jonah Goldberg and Ben Shapiro in public. It is obvious that their subversive, ethnically self-interested lessons do find students.

I'm sure the Republican Party will continue to be well funded by special interest oligarchs, but they are dismissive and even destructive of conservative values.

There are always nascent political parties, but conservatives haven't had a decent choice since the Reform Party in 1995. At the time, the Republican Party was still a viable home for conservatives, but no longer. It has become a home for criminals and their lickspittle lackeys.

Does anyone have a suggestion of a political party that honors conservative values?
I would like to know this as well.

The problem is that the Electoral College pushes the existence of two parties at the presidential level. Which cascades down through the state and local levels.

There are a couple ways I think to overcome this at state/local levels.

1) Ranked choice voting - https://ballotpedia.org/Ranked-choice_voting_(RCV)

2) Fusion voting - https://ballotpedia.org/Fusion_voting

Please note that both these methods can result in the loss of the candidate most favored by a plurality of the voters to a second choice. But then, so does the Electoral College.

It's obvious to anyone that the two major parties are actually coalitions. What these methods have in common is making those coalitions transparent, forcing the specifics of the necessary deal-making out into the open.

Another reason I feel the electoral college needs to be abolished.

One person, one vote, that's how it should count.

And that would be if he lived in a democracy. Which we don't. States have rights. Which is why their voice must be heard.

How can you fix that?

I think a lot of real fiscal conservatives are declaring themselves 'independent'. The party has abandoned their principles and BTW put an embarrassment in the white house. Their very presence in the public marketplace of ideas will have the effect of pulling the Democrats in their direction a bit, moderating them.

The social and/or religious conservatives are a mixed bag. Many are not actually fiscally conservative, or don't understand it well. We see efforts to keep the protestant religious conservatives in line such as that pastor Jeffress's claim that we risk civil war, and that other claim from pastor Rohrer that if we don't re-elect Trump the nation would "suffer the final fury and wrath of God". Pretty stern stuff, but all BS. Some (many, perhaps most) social conservatives are not very religious, so that wouldn't necessarily influence them, but co-ed bathrooms could send them through the roof.

Actually we do live in a democracy.

A representative democracy.

Popular vote for president does not change that. It's how virtually all other countries with a presidential system elect their president.

It won't be fixed without better education and civic engagement.

A lot of Americans don't even have a clue about any kind of international politics.

A lot of low info Americans think America is the only "free country" in the world.
