I'm honestly really nervous about this possibility and what it could mean for the social fabric of our country.

Sure!

That way Dems have a built in defense for any criticism of their policies the same way they did with Obama.

Mover over "that's racist!"

And make room for "that's homophobic!"

Blacks won't vote for Buttigieg. He has a bad relationship with them in South Bend, IN (he's the mayor) and Blacks are quite strongly anti-gay. 70% of Black voters voted to pass Prop 8 (banning same sex marriage) in California. Hispanics also voted to pass it at a higher percentage than Asians and Whites (the majority of both voted against it).

Enough of the social justice experiments in the White House already. 8 years of Obama was plenty.

I really like him a lot. I don't know about others, but things like his being gay are irrelevant to me.
He is really intelligent, has some really good ideas IMO...much more moderate than Bernie or Warren,
has military experience. I would really like to see him be the nominee for President..if not then Vice President.
But, so far he is my favorite of the Democrats running.

That being said, I will probably vote for whoever the Democrats nominate. All I know is Trump is the worst President, hands down in my lifetime (of over 6 decades...yes, including Nixon even)...He needs to go.

Is this one of the reasons Black Democrats do not support the Mayor ?

Also the Hispanic Community overall is still a very much a Macho non accepting of the gay lifestyle. Will this hurt him with Hispanics ?

Oh, I don't know.

A lot of voters are fine with a President who cheated on three wives, bragged about grabbing women, and is listed as a co-conspirator in a federal crime that involved paying a porn star hush money.

I think standards are fairly flexible these days.

Well, your description is completely wrong. Stop believing the hype! Not every gay person associates themselves with the LGBT community. There are still lots of gay INDIVIDUALS living in the world.

Gender, Race, Color, Sexual Preference, etc., should not define the candidate. I don't care that Pete is Gay, it is his POLITICS I don't like."

No vote. There should be a third choice. "Don't Care".

Yes the Kennedy's and Bill Clinton sure lowered the bar when it came to Fidelity.

Even LBJ had a Mistress or 3 over his career.
