As noted earlier, a man died on his feet instead of living on his knees. This irks the hell out of both teams but especially Blue in these situations.
A man died instead of living. He could have left instead of sticking around and trying to be John McClane. I;m sure is family would rather he had had Thanksgiving dinner with them instead of lying cold with a toe tag in some refrigerator.
I feel horrible for the guy's family, but rule one of concealed carry should be if you're going to shoot someone, you better be a decent shot, as non-paper targets sometimes shoot back.
As unfortunate as this is, we were all taught in CCW classes that you only unholster if you fear for your life. Not when threat is on the way out the door.

You'd never catch me trying to intercede in that situation.
Hopefully the next shop owner shoots them dead. We can only hope.

Nobody was going to get shot, he tried to play hero. Far better to just let the store insurance pickup the tab. If you're not sure you're going to shoot someone dead in the first shot they're going to shoot back.

If it was my store, I'd be shooting them.
I'm not going to risk my life for other people's stuff.

In which case hopefully you've got a short shotgun behind the counter. Increases your survival than if you just had a handgun.
Maybe a Judge with special 410 loads.
