Choice A: you get 25,000 jobs and $24 million in tax revenue.

Choice B: you get 0 jobs and 0 in tax revenue while saying, "They should have paid $30 million in taxes."

And you choose B. Lol

New York State is pretty much projected to lose another 2 electoral votes and 2 House representatives after 2020.

This is due to the huge net migration OUT of the state, to other places in the USA. AOC's district might not even be there after that.

so workers are paid less so the city gets their money..do this often enough and you have slavery (lowered wage jobs)
when everybody does this people suffer...the excuse everybody does it is weak....
if not for those republican "states rights" fellows we ould have national laws forbidding this practice and maybe elevate to the prosperity of the advanced European countries...
States rights as well as other confederate legacy ideas continue to hold the country conservatively backwards
The workers don't pay more than any other worker at other businesses. There are more workers because there is a new business with new additional jobs. Hence more taxes for the local entities and state.

Amazon was bringing 25K NEW jobs to the area, since AOC screwed that up by being a simpleton leading other simpletons, those jobs simply won't exist. Unemployment is the alternative she picked for them.

Honestly though, the jobs is just one side of this, she cost the city billions in tax revenue at a time when the city desperately needs more of it. There's simply no way to spin this unless you fundamentally fail to understand what happened....or you are assuming that everyone else is dumb enough to fundamentally fail to understand what happened. That's the route AOC is going, and judging by her fanbase, she's probably right.

i just read an article a few days ago that said to make up for the "lost" revenue from the company that "lost" money is somehow deducted from worker pay..wish i had the link..the city has to pay for company services somehow again the article i read might not have pertained to this deal but to tax abatement's in general

if we made it illegal to "shop around" for tax breaks we wouldn't have this worry..but then there's those pesky states rights fellows again

your opinion would mean more if you did not degrade the opposing viewpoints intelligence by the way it reflects poorly

Really, no in between. We know these industrial development agencies are never overly optimistic with their projections with their use of tax breaks. LOL

Somehow NYC lives on and saved taxpayers a bundle, you should congratulate AOC and others.

That’s the money needed to pay for schools, police, roads, firemen, etc...infrastructure that Amazon uses and should pay for.
People with jobs upgrade their homes (pay increased property tax), shop more (sales tax), and pay income taxes to everyone with their hands out.

Got it?
