So, do you avoid all places where there has been human misery, etc? If so, you should probably just stay at home.
If you want to defend Plantations and what happened on them, DO THAT!! Don’t prevaricate or display cowardice about it by employing relativist nonsense.
You wouldn’t tell a Jew this crap if they refused to visit Auschwitz for the same reasons I declined to visit a plantation, so your response to me is quite revelatory regarding the topic.
Of course I’m never surprised. If you let people talk long enough, it always comes out, doesn’t it?
I'm assuming Chinese Americans don't have an version to ridding on trains after what their ancestors went through building our railways out west.
You think that’s the same thing?
So lemme get this straight...the Chinese, who came here voluntarily, and had a less than favorable experience while building the railroads, and it was totally comparable to what was going on at plantations all across the South? The Chinese were beaten, tortured, had their womenfolk routinely raped, their children and family members sold away, their language and culture stolen, and the Christian religion imposed on them? Really now? That’s what happened to the Chinese?
Intolerant extreme liberals being intolerant extreme liberals.
Why are those venues complaining? They apparently depended on the "Intolerant extreme liberals being intolerant extreme liberals" for their advertisement and business.
Would a reasonable person have their wedding at Auschwitz?

In the mind of conservative, Jews have a valid complaint (as long as there’s a chance that more of them might become Republicans someday and Israel remains an ally), while African Americans should be thankful to whites for slavery. For them, we should think that the end justifies the means.
The irony is that conservatives absolutely hate “the end” and wish “the means” never had to come to an end.

Ok...gimme the link to back that up.
When we get into a contest of who suffered more then we all have to stand in line behind the Indian.
I toured a plantation in SC. What stood out for me was not the huge mansion that the slave owners' lived in, but the slave shacks that had chains built into the floors in which to lock up the slaves at night. What reasonable person would want to have a wedding with this as their backdrop?

The plantation mansion is the backdrop, not the shacks or the out house or stables or whatever else one may shoehorn in.
