That a Republican president has such a low approval rating and in fact their disapproval rating is higher than their approval rating, is indeed something. Comparing it to any Democratic president is apples to oranges.

Trump is disapproved of more than he is approved of. Even in the military apparently. Which is typically an easy win for Republicans.

"Favoring" Trump over a Democrat - particularly far left leaning ones, is not the same as actually approving of him.

In fact Trump's approval, by this small sample taken by a NY University, has Trump's approval higher than any President since Reagan.
