I live in Western NY.

Im a regular poster on a NYgunforum and we have regular discussion on this very topic.

It's an Exodus.

I think it's fair to say at least half the people if not more like 2/3 leaving NY state are extremely conservative.

We are being driven out by our tyrannical governor Cuomo and insane big city liberal policies. Our own governor infamously said if you are pro God, pro gun, pro life that you're an extreme conservative and not welcome in NY.

The people leaving NY are typically looking to resettle their families in TN, NC, SC, FL,TX or maybe elsewhere.

I would expect those states to see increased conservative political refugees fleeing ny for a more conservative state.

To those of you in red States, and if a NYer moves in next door, don't immediately stereotype them, they may have more in common with you than you immediately suspect.

I'm hoping to be out of this state within 5 years tops I will be taking my family, conservative ideas, patriotism, tax revenue and productivity to a red state.

Sounds like solid advise. Cuomo and Company will no doubt try to tax you as you escape NY

Not your fault (you're just relaying the information as stated in the article), but the thread title shouldn't include the term 'Big Apple', as the article is about the State of New York. The Big Apple is a nickname for New York City, not the state.

I know quite a few people who've moved here from New York. None of them are liberals. They're some of the most conservative people I know, almost to the point of knee-jerk-ism.

Thank God for Texas and how it works to keep the cost of living down in Oklahoma and other undesirable red states. Surely, a lot of New Yorkers are moving to Texas and not Oklahoma.

Cost of living index: Tulsa, OK - 83.2, Wichita, KS - 82.1, Austin, TX - 119.3.

Austin is an outlier in TX in more ways than just cost.

Jersey is NOT listed as a state projected losing seats.
