I think it's pretty great that we essentially just mobilized an irregular light infantry division and set up camp in the capital. That should give the power hungry left a bit of caution.
Put into perspective how big of a deal that is. It can't be understated.
The Citizens Militia is 10-20 times larger than any standing army. They ain't only weekend deer hunters either.
That's what scares the Socialist, Communist and Democrats.
One thing that is funny. The laws being considered do not affect 2A.
No one will lose their guns as long as, like today, they are peace full and following the law.
Law and order are what makes our country as great as it is.
Laws being considered involve surrender, destruction or registration of my guns and related equipment. What purpose does registration serve? It does not prevent misuse in any way, and only serves to inform the government who has what to facilitate future confiscation or taxation. And why would I apply for a permit to keep that which I legally purchased and already possess? Why would I surrender thousands of dollars worth of accessories which I also purchased legally? If I can’t be trusted with a 30-rnd magazine, why should I be trusted with a 10-rnd mag? (I just finished modifying 30 ten-round magazines to increase their capacity - just because.)
My go-to in the nightstand holds 17+1. That’s what I feel is necessary to protect my family when something goes bump in the night. Who the hell is Gov Coonface to decide that’s too much for me to have? Particularly when he has round-the-clock armed protection which I, as a taxpayer, am providing?
My 13 y.o. is NRA trained and quite proficient with her three guns - two rifles and a handgun. She responsible for and demonstrates to my satisfaction that she handles them safely, uses them properly, and has my full and complete trust in having access to my loaded 9mm when she’s home alone. Under Coonface’s law, allowing her such access would be a crime.
Red flag laws would make it legal to remove one’s personal property without benefit of due process. While I may agree on preventing potential harm to others, I do not see harm to one’s self as justification for violating one’s rights. What gives you (or Coonface) as a representative of society, to decide that I shall be stopped from ending my own life should I choose to do so? No, you don’t care about me, and who’s life is it anyhow?
The laws presently under consideration certainly do affect the 2nd Amendment.
NV is gearing up for a fight just like VAs. We here in the tual ranhing and farming North against Vegas and its transplanted CA population.
The same laws that the VA legislature is trying to cram through are happening here. The cow counties as we call them have also seen LE state they will not enforce them. And the Capitol, Carson City, is also on board. Carson is not Vegas.
The Dems are pushing for the Capitol to be moved to Vegas. Which is fine. We in the North are fine e with splitting the state. Quite fine.
Them in Vegas can have that urban cesspool. Apologies to them in Vegas that might understand me, but you need to head for parts North.
This sounds like NY state. Upstate NY is another world from downstate (NYC and long island).
By the way, there are many pics from the protest of a guy toting around his .50 Barrett m107 at the Richmond protest. He's a local guy from near me here in western ny who went down to support VA.
He said he brought his .50 to prove a point about open carry.
Its becoming more of an "Uber elite leftist city" vs rural and conservative suburbs. It's more a battle of rural vs suburban than it is red States vs blue states.

I saw him there today. Impressive piece he was carrying!
Please use today's gathering in Virginia as an example to show your state that people *can* stand up against them. The event was peaceful and non-confrontational, but did send a message. I hope to see more like this across the country - NY, CA, CT, MA, MD, and more - all places such statements need to be made.
This news about the gun rally had slipped under the radar of the editors, Susan Bro, the mother of Heather Heyer, said then she owns a gun and think Virginia Democrats goes too far. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...ar/4522509002/
There's a vlog about the guy who tell his opinion to MSNBC.

The post you quoted here was deleted as off topic. Odd that. I would think the laws that were being protested in VA happening elsewhere is pretty well on topic. But so be it.
I was quite thankful to see things go off in VA without a hitch.

Good luck with a protest like this in any of those states mentioned.
