So I listened to our scientists and they told us they know zero.. they need more data... They will have more information on the spread of the disease in one or two weeks to know if it can be spread by someone who shows no symptoms.. China says yes, they want to confirm it before the will accept it. They want American scientists over in China to find out what this virus is capable of . Meanwhile the planes are still flying in and the screening of passengers coming from China will go from 5 airports to 20 airports.
I was making an analogy: vaccines work by provoking an immune response to a weakened version of the target virus. Someone who's had a full course of the normal vaccinations will have had their immune system alerted & appropriate antibodies produced each time.
An anti-vaxxer presumably would never have had vaccinations, & so their immune system has only responded to actual infections - which vary by location, season, etc.
& therefore, the immune response of someone who's had a full course of vaccinations is likely to be stronger than that of an anti-vaxxer, someone who's never had any vaccinations @ all.
It's this practice effect that I was referring to. Someone (in Canada?) has already tried the SARS & MERS vaccines on someone infected with Wuhan CV - it didn't work.
This is absurd and quite a stretch. Being vaccinated for the flu or whatever else won’t provide any protection at all from this coronavirus.
I think that it’s best to remember that we have immune systems. If this virus hits the US in large numbers the best thing a person can do is wash your hands, take care of your body, eat healthy foods, support your immune system and don’t stress.
Hong Kong has stopped trains and ferries to the mainland. This will hit the China economy a bit.
As we've seen already, they announce a border closure early to allow those who want to travel time to do so.

The immune system does not care whether it is responding to an actual infection or to a vaccine, and the only diseases that vaccines provide an antibody response to are the specific ones for which the vaccines are designed.
Vaccines do not work on someone who is already sick. Coronavirus vaccines must be specific for the different viruses. The researchers do have a head start because they have made coronavirus vaccines already. They are not starting from scratch.

Sounds like an ineffective way to do things. They should stop travel completely if they are concerned. Letting in half the number of people 2 days from now will just hurt the economy and will not prevent or even slow down the spread.
