“Senators will make their first moves today,” says CBS News, but Mitch McConnell has already made his first. In the rules that McConnell unveiled last night, the Senate will offer both sides equal time to make their cases, but envisions the Senate remaining in session for 16 hours at a time in order to expedite the process on the calendar. Any witnesses will have to get a majority vote as expected, which was also the case in the Bill Clinton impeachment trial in 1999.

McConnell’s rules package had one surprise change from that trial, though — the Senate will not automatically admit the evidence from the House. That will also take a majority vote, a move that made Democrats furious last night:

Glad to see the Senate is honoring our Constitution, tradition, and the law by reinstating due process rights for the President. The circus show that was impeachment in the House was by all accounts the most one-sided partisan farce in history. It's great that the Senate won't permit such antics.

Face it, the Republicans are going to do whatever they can to protect Trump, regardless of the Constitution. First of all, they do not want to see a Democrat in the White House next time, and secondly, they will do anything to protect their own jobs.

Regardless of how damning the information is in this impeachment, people like Nunes, Jordan, and McConnell will ignore the truth and vote in favor of Trump. How these people look their families in the eye is hard to imagine.

The truth is being protected.
The swamp may be able to Railroad a small time player, like Roger Stone, but that is not going to fly with a duly elected President.

If you want "truth", how do you ignore the huge amount of evidence that Trump really did try to play games with our election by using the Ukraines ? It is right there for any intelligent person who does want to see the facts and truth, all you have to do is open your eyes and your brain.

Awww , ya mean that liberal career diplomats ( the true machinery of “The State”)won’t be granted the opportunity to bemoan their hurt feelings and their alarm that the president wanted to cut corruption’s money-flow into Ukraine? After all, career diplomats KNOW that the status quo is necessary to maintain a weaker U.S. position everywhere in order to continue the globalist trend and to continue the steady surrender of U.S. sovereignty.

Career diplomats are too arrogant to follow the will of the American people. But WE MUST be cognizant of their fragile personal egos, according to the non- democratic Dems.

It must be opposite day again. There is no way you can make that concept look good.

Don't hide the light under a bushel basket. Let's see all of the documents and hear all of the witnesses.

Face it the Democrats did and will continue to try and remove a Republican President from the White House at all cost. Pretty much said so even before he took the oath. Dems **** show in the house was an embarrassment, first rushing through because of made up national security concerns, then sitting on the articles in order to gain political advantage.
I don’t know how these Democrats can look their families in the eye is hard to imagine.
