Look, I have far more than $400 in my bank, but I still wouldn’t pay $20/m for my cellphone if I have to pay it myself. I would get a $10 pay as you go.
Based on how dumb a lot of these posters are about straight up facts that can be easily verified, I have zero confidence that most of them are NOT In the 40% we're talking about, even if they are using Trac phones.

Like I said, it’s pretty dumb to think saving $20/m is dumb.

I had neighbors in California, him in law enforcement, her a secretary, who's combined income was about $130,000 per year. I doubt they ever finished a month with $400. Every time a paycheck was about due, if they still had any money they would go to Costco and buy expensive doodads with cash. (A vacuum packager for food, luggage, electronics, a Vitamix Blender, etc.). Then as the month proceeded and they ran out of money, they would return these items for cash. It was sort of like their bank account.

It's not always just the "poor" in this situation.

They keep a lot of luxury product companies afloat. Crystal Champagne; Rolex; Louis Vuitton; German auto companies; etc.

Really sad how many of them end up.

I didn't say it was. Pay attention. The blanket position that everyone should be saving $20/m when a lot of these people have outstanding or recurring medical bills, or credit card debtthey got into when they were in a bind, or some unexpected life event that wiped out whatever savings they did they have is a dumb position to take.

And? You still probably buy into the conventional "wisdom" being spread here? That's the dumbness I judge on. You can luck into a job that hides your poor decisions. Believing nonsense is willful stupidity.

I don’t “lick into” a job. I work hard and improve my skills so that I can continue into a better job.

Luck has zero to do with having a decent job. Luck has lots to do with a great job.

What % of that 40% fall into your scenarios?
What % are just victims of their own bad choices?
