If it only was about party loyalty it wasn't a trial at all which is what we've been saying. Calling the man a traitor shows your hand.

I can agree with you that we need to replace all the Senate Democrats who blindly follow their party in almost all instances.

Strapping a dog in a crate tied to the roof of the family car...is something you approve of?

Bullying a kid in school...is something you approve of?

Magic underwear...is something you approve of?

Many people don't approve of these things, hence the criticism.

Many people do approve of a person acting according to their conscience, and explaining their decision reasonably and coherently, even knowing that they are going to get flak for their actions.

The attempt to make this into a partisanship thing instead of a human thing only demonstrates your own partisanship.

They didn't think it was laughably weak or inadequate. Funny, that?

ETA -- Except for the "magic underwear" thing. Most religious dogma is silly when evaluated with the cold light of science, I don't find this one particularly more odd than any other. Most Mormons I've met have been exceedingly nice, kind people.

LOL. The Republican Party is stronger and more popular right now than it has been in 15 years.

This is all because of Trump.

I would think that that would be up to those who voted for him. Your OPINION is duly noted.

I believe that if you are asked to take an oath that oath is higher than party loyalty. I totally respect him for having the courage to vote his conscience and honor that oath. That is what he was there to do, to honor the oath. The others simply took orders. Now they have no where to turn.
