Also, for clarity, if someone has an unskilled job paying $8 an hour, or approximately $320 a week or around $1300 a month, he can quit and get $1000 for nothing? So effectively he is working a full time job for $300 a month, or even less once you add in commuting costs. Is the purpose of this to persuade unskilled people to quit their jobs and collect free money from taxpayers?

i agree those two are the only ones i would actually pay attention to if they got that far. Unfortunately i think that would only happen if everyone else somehow died off the morning of the Democratic Convention. And even then we would probably get Hillary and Michelle.

Not everyone that makes minimum wage is lazy.
I think very few people would stop working, but at the same time they might think, wow, I can actually afford more food, or prescriptions, or a couple more articles of clothing for my kid, or school supplies, while they maintain a full time job that might provide them with health insurance benefits. Or maybe they can put some money away for their kids for college. Or maybe they're trying to pay for college.
Unlike the snooze-fests they've been so far, tonight looks to be entertaining. So far they've been spoon-fed anti-Trump questions and little attacking of each other. Based on the soundbites I've heard this week from many of the Democrat candidates, they'll be going after each other (very similar to the Republicans four years ago).
Yeah, debates should be judged on whether or not their snoozefests. Instead we should have a clown as a contestant that speaks in garbled sentences and makes fun of everybody.

Yang might be appealing to a lot of independents. Democrats, for the most part, don't like Tulsi. They don't like Trump either, but Tulsi isn't the slightest bit helpful.
