You predict or are you repeating right-wing media talking points? Yea, I’m sure some companies will jump ship if Bernie is elected but after they see it’s not anywhere as bad as the right-wing media predicted, they will come back. For example, universal healthcare will take the burden of proving health insurance off the backs of businesses which is a huge benefit.

the Obama admin (back in 2014) stated we will enter a recession in 2017 no matter who is in office

Thanks for asking.
Catch a clue will ya? No one bemoans the great economic economy. We are sick over what has been destroyed by trump, racism by you trumpies getting us into more world conflicts. We do hate to see that Trump is Putin's *****... We hate to see the POTUS cozy up too dictators and tyrants. We hate to see our POTUS defending white supremacists. We see Trump's enjoyment of trying to divide our country.

8.5% in 2011==caused by republicans.

Remember!! mitch told everyone not to invest until we get rid of Obama.

under Obama (and FY2009 isn't his to own), we had one decrease in tax receipts for FY09; the decrease was 17% to 2.1 Trillion.

https://www.thebalance.com/current-u...evenue-by-year

From 2009 to FY2017 (Obama's last), the receipts rose from 2.1T to 3.3T. Read that again - federal income tax receipts went up 57% under Obama. Even if you go back to the peak of FY07, they were up 29%.

And under Trump? Well, they were flat for FY18 (technically, up 10Billion). And they should be up 3.3% for FY19.

as some have cried, over and over - we don't have a revenue problem. We have a spending problem. And yes, Trump and the Republican-led Congress own that too.

So you’re giving him credit for the economy?

It’s great as far as I am concerned. If you believe the polling, more people believe it is great than people who think it isn’t.

It seems like you are dodging the question I asked of the OP, but you are clearly illustrating the reason I posed my question. You are doing what most Democrats do, which is to give Obama credit for the good and give Trump the blame for the bad.

On top of that, you cant even give him credit when you are “giving him credit”. You give him the credit-neutral stance of saying he is “not ruining it”.

So while the OP asks “If Trump gets credit for the economy, does he get blame if it falters?”,
I have to ask “If Trump DOESN’T get credit for the economy, does he NOT get blame if it falters?”

From your very response, it seems you, and most democrats, want to have it both ways. He doesn’t get credit for the economy when it is good, but he gets the blame if it is bad.

Don't you think it fair Trump gets the same benefits Obama got?

If it's bad it was GWB's fault. If it's good Obama got the credit.

To answer your question. He owns it. If after 3 years the economy tanks that is on him. After 3 years it is raging. Unemployment is at an all time low. the dow is at an all time high. ( inspire of the non-sense pulled by the democrats). He gets the credit. If the house of cards collapses on his watch he gets that credit too.

Trump doesn't get credit for the current economy. He'll get credit for the coming economy (whether it's good or bad). It takes about 3 years before legislation and policy have a trending impact on the economy.
