Calling everyone that voted for Trump a racist. I never knew my old party was that ignorant. People vote for hope and what they feel is best for them. So people in some depressed town that had good manufacturing jobs in years past, but don't now voted for Trump because he took the time to speak to them. Hillary didn't take any time to speak to them and stuck her nose up while walking by. Who the heck do you think people in small town USA would vote for? Usually the candidate that speaks to them. Kind of obvious. Trump is focused on job growth and I feel he is doing a good job on that front. In 7-10 years we will get a better look at what he is doing today. That is how it works.
So is it worth it? I think I would be living in a more ignorant state of mind if Trump didn't get elected. I never knew how many people are racist in society against white people. I honestly feel the country is more divided than ever, but maybe we will grow from this and realize the Internet gives a lot of unintelligent people a louder voice than they really should have. We will figure that out someday I hope.
Is it worth it? Not sure. Ignorance is bliss so they say and without a Trump in office I would still be a Democrat thinking my party was better. I don't think it is a better party as it is running on pure hate. I am an Independent now and feel good about that, but I can't vote in the primary.
I honestly don't know at this time if it is worth it. I miss living ignorantly of how so many people are, but sometimes growing is painful.

Interesting post - there is no question that Donald Trump is unlikely any President before him. What you call "jerk", "brash" & "abrasive" .... you also admit that his communications with the public are responsible for no longer being "ignorant". I've never been to New York, but I spent over 25 years working with and for New Yorkers. Many were much like President Trump. I may not have liked their attitudes, BUT I learned a lot from them.
In today's world of almost total collaboration (some might called it Collusion) between the Democrat Party and the Media -- it is absolutely necessary to have a voice that is independent from their Rubber Bubble. You are correct - we would not know anything about the attempted Coup against a Political Party and sitting President if President Trump wasn't "brash" enough to tell the world about it.
"Brash, abrasive, jerk" -- maybe so, but many like the idea of knowing what the President thinks in real time without some Leftist Media pundit giving his/her interpretation.
I am one of the "many" and it looks like you are also. That Leftist Bubble is getting holes punched in it.
