That speaks to the fact that he was trying to manipulate the sentencing. The judge isn't having any of it though. Barr should be held accountable based on the letter by the New York State Barr and the DOJ IG investigation.
actually he can... as all he is giving is a comment or an opinion.....

1. there is no issue, with the POTUS making a suggestion...and trumpo's tweet was just that a suggestion.....just like Obama's beer summit, and "Trayvon could have been me", and the Ferguson issue, also him administering executive privilege's in Fast&furious

2. POTUS (and POTUS) issuing commuting of sentences has happened for 100 years, including when Clinton commuted (freed) the PR Terrorists (he had the NYPD enraged), or when Obama commuted manning's sentence....us in the military were enraged....

3. the Stone issue, that case should have been thrown out, for a biased jury

did you have issues with Obama doing similar things during his 8 years....or is it just another "orange man bad"

why should he not be commenting.....its a comment, an opinion.... just like your post...an opinion

were you offended when Obama made comments...because he made plenty of comments and injected himself into legal matters he had no reason to comment on...Obama, just like trump, like to hear himself speak....

presidents, vice presidents, speakers of the house, sec of state...they all make comments, suggestions on a multitude of things, even things they have no normal say in.... that's part of being human, we all have opinions....even presidents.... his opinion is just that an opinion, just like when a president submits a budget, its a suggestion... Obama summited a budget and Harry Reid and the senate voted 100-0 against the suggestion...and then congress wrote their own budget.....which is their job, as budget bills are supposed to start in the house... the president makes a suggestion, an opinion... doesn't mean anyone has to take that opinion/suggestion and run with it

so what if trumpo makes a comment....that is all it is...a comment, an opinion...… stone was already found guilty....ANY JUDGE, could (if they wanted to) say, "time already served" or just give probation...or give the max.... and the seriousness of the crime, health of the convict, age of the convict all play into the JUDGES DECISION....doesn't matter what trump comments/opinions on

there is an active thread here, where a poster gleefully titles the thread that "stone could get a life sentence"...gleefully... then in their op says 6-9 years could be his life..... again an opinion (bad taste opinion at that)...but then again the same poster was gleeful that Rush L has cancer...some people as just rude

Maybe that's a flaw in our federal system. I don't think the founders foresaw the partisan corruption of law enforcement. And federal power was alot less back then, as well.

President JFK and AG Robert Kennedy were brothers and worked hand in hand. RK was one of the best AG's we ever had.

The took on the Mob and other criminals.

So yes the President who is over the AG and DOJ can and should have influence over that Department.

I impeachment showed that the separation of the Executive and Legislative Branches of Government were getting blurred now the Judicial branch. Seems this POTUS is on the fast tract to be the first official dictator if he hasn't arrived already..

Trump can't intervene in sentencing or ask for investigations into his political opponents or enemy. Trump has pressured the DOJ to open investigations. His personal attorney has a backchannel to submit evidence about the Biden's to Barr. Something he couldn't get Ukraine to do. Trump wanted MCCabe and Clinton to be investigated. The judges can see what Trump is up to and they don't like it. Barr has carried out Trump's bidding with the hiring of Durham too. Barr applies Trump's talking points of collusion and spying. It speaks volumes when people at the State Department, DOJ and within the administration want nothing to do with the leadership of corruption.

Yes, Trump shows every day that he thinks being a president is the same thing as being a CEO of a private organization with no obligations to stakeholders or anyone else .

It isn't.

The fact that so many people agree with him just boggles my mind.
