Wow that is crazy. I don’t know too many people who travel abroad once a year. That’s awesome you know that many successful people.

I’m assuming some of this is for business travel. If not I would definitely like to know how they get that much time off and where they work in general.

Not a recession but a depression. This is going to be comparable to the 1930s.

Excuse me? What kind of a strawman statement is this? Puhleez.

It looks like the left are caught in an interesting dilemma.

1. A COVID-19 pandemic could be seen as an indictment of the kind of borderless, globalized world they've long supported.
2. A COVID-19 pandemic could set the stage for a market crash which they hope gives them a fighting chance come November.

When faced with a choice between ethical integrity and "orange man bad", it looks like their hate of Trump trumps everything else.

Once you’re able/willing to get out of the partisan-bickering box we can have a real meaningful conversation about the current state of the U.S economy given recent global events. Playing the blame-game is unhelpful. We’re all Americans here (I assume). Thus, we’re all in this together.

You need to stop looking at things through a partisan political lens, and instead think of what is the best way to protect the health of the public, period.

Epidemics don't care who your political party affiliation is.

I'm afraid it's too late to un-mutate COVID-19 into a non-political talking point.

Your wonderful corporate media (on both sides of the political polemic) has already let the cat out of the bag on that one.

I guess you've eminently doubled down on your talking points and shown that you're not interested in a productive discussion on the merits of public health response in a reasonable measured manner.

Thanks for proving my point well.

The whole point of this forum is partisan polemic, if you'd be so kind as to look at the top of your screen.

Perhaps the OP could ask a mod to move the thread to current events or the economics forum if this isn't what he had in mind.

Conservatives always deny reality when it goes against their talking points until they can't anymore.

2008 still seems too recent. I remember how conservatives were downplaying the crashing economy back then in efforts to defend Bush's record. However there always comes a point when they can't anymore. In 2008 that was Lehman Bros. Who knows what it will be this time.

It definitely looks like we are just seeing the beginnings of this. The layoffs will be ramping up in the near future. I'm predicting double digit national unemployment with much higher in some locations before this is all said and done.

Maybe after this people will finally wake up and realize the cold hard fact that electing a Republican guarantees an economic crash.
