I don't even see why this would be controversial. Why should federal funds go to cities that protect criminal aliens? That would be, in effect, asking American taxpayers (like me) to protect those who not only break into our country illegally, but go on to commit crimes against honest and law-abiding Americans.

makes complete sense, illegals need to be sent to California, nice weather, people that want to help them. Get the buses rolling.

Godspeed.

This is simply common sense. Why should a city be rewarded for breaking the law?

Liberals won't like that though because many liberal policies are designed to protect criminals.

So now we have a SCOTUS-approved policy that allows the US President to selectively target and financially damage cities he does not like. This is no longer functioning at the federal level; it's down to specific cities. He can pick and choose which city he attacks. What is to stop him from applying this for leverage on other policies? Or just targeting cities that didn't vote for him? The guy was already impeached for abuse of power.

Wrong! We have cities selectively deciding to make up their own immigration law, obstruct the feds, and force taxpayers to support illegals (one example is city-funded pro bono lawyers to defend them against deportation). City officials swore an oath to citizens not illegals, yet they still want federal money. Can’t have it both ways.

Meh... It's the law. SCOTUS says so. We Republicans love this Rule of Law stuff.
