If oil prices go down, the gas companies will say that gas prices won't go down for some time because the gas they have was made months ago when oil prices were higher. But if there's any kind of hiccup in oil production, a hurricane in the Gulf, an oil refinery burns or a tanker gets attacked in the middle east, prices go up instantly because oil prices have gone up and gasoline prices will be higher. Same for Holidays. More people travelling so they raise prices a nickel or a dime. No reason, its just that they can get away with it.

I still love diesel cars and I want to keep one in the household because the mileage is spectacular and the engines are so much more durable and less maintenance intensive. But I just can’t understand why diesel won’t fall below $2.79 in this state when gasoline is $.50 cents and more cheaper.

Arizona has DEFINITELY been stubborn. These prices aren’t budging much here statewide. I was in Phoenix all weekend, and I was floored at how the prices up there haven’t moved.
Diesel always used to be cheaper than gas...………

Oh snap!
Out today and what a difference. I just topped off the tank with diesel for $1.59. Unleaded gas was $1.29
Ya baby.... and I have 2 wells that pump that stuff.
So i get 50,000 quarterly, instead of 320,000. They have not said anything about turning off the wells.

What suburbs are those? Gas went up to $2.45/gallon here yesterday. They'll go up another $.06 or $.07 a gallon tomorrow in preparation for the "$.05 off Thursday" promotion.

It depends the twin just West of us where I work it’s starting to go up will probably hit $2:50ish a gallon. It’s a tourist town and the only gas station for 20 miles or more depending on the direction you take. East of us will it will go up slightly..
