They say the virus has already peaked, especially in worst places like China, but no doubt Trump will take full credit for stopping it.

The tourism ban is a panic-reaction and will hurt many industries, and they are already talking about bailing out cruise lines, hotels etc. If that is what pseudo-conservatives admire, then he is their man.

I think it's too late. He's playing catchup after being callous about the matter. If he had handled it like a real leader from the get go he'd have a higher chance of being re-elected.

With the way he's handled it he's handing it to Biden. Europe has handled it much better. IMO, ban on Euro travel is pointless containment wise and will only further the stock market decline. They're already laying people off as a result of all this. We hit bear market yesterday. Without some miraculous recovery, that is further going to sink his ship.

Why didn't he include the UK? That's my thought.

In 2 months we will be at saturation. Most people who were going to get it will have it.
That is how it started in China but it quickly slowed down. In both China and the US, testing was chaotic in the early days so some of the dramatic rise is just better organized testing here. In China as the numbers got more alarming, they clamped down more and more on movement of people. That will happen here also. Schools are already starting to close here. Some work is encouraging people to stay home. People are smarter now about washing hands and social distancing. It took 2+ months for the Chinese to reach the peak. Probably the same for us, so sometime in May.

So can someone explain to me how the payroll tax credit will help a worker who is home sick and not working and therefore not getting paid?

And isn't the biggest concern people who don't get paid when they don't get work?

So someone who has two part time jobs because corporations don't hire full time.....don't get sick leave with either company. They get sick or have to quarantine because a loved one is sick, how does the fact that payroll tax credit to those still working help that individual.

Princess cruises is cancelling all sailings for the next two months. I hope they do that for Carnival. We have a family cruise scheduled for 10 who live in three different states and they are giving us a big hassle about rescheduling and trying to sharge us more money to change to a different sail date. It's very hard for us to find a mutually convenient time with several kids in school, college, and most of the cruisers working.

Even if the market completely tanks and the coronavirus spreads to all 50 states, he'll probably still win the election considering who he'll be running up against.

An old incoherent Joe Biden who's suffering from the 1st stages of dementia.
And a delusional marxist Bernie who often praised Cuba's socialist system in the past...a system that has kept Cuba in perpetual third world poverty.

Trying to help out his friend Boris was my guess. Outbreak in UK is much worse than in some other countries included in the ban.

How do you know they are not getting paid?
