That time the president had to be protected.

This time the president must be destroyed.

The end.

Oh stop being so dramatic. H1N1 had a kill rate matching the flu at 0.1%. That's as minimal as it will go.

Corona is around 3% currently. That's high.

It's only so high because of its very low infection rate! Think about it, if only two people in the entire world have some disease and one of them dies...that's a 50% rate! That sounds scary...until you realize it's only TWO PEOPLE! The data on this is horribly skewed, the governments know it, but they don't care, they'd rather give in to panic and hype everyone else into a froth over it!

This new virus is much more contagious and the mortality rate seems to be many times higher.

If that is actually the case, when this becomes spread generally over the entire population the death rate will be multiples of H1N1 in 2009. Some estimates put the total swine flu deaths around the world at up to around 575,000 in 2009, so this is a sobering thought.

Most of us will be uncomfortable, but do fine, however many of us who could probably beat the H1N1 today will die of Covid-19.

This isn't 'lefties' or 'media' which are saying this, it is medical professionals from across the globe. This is no 'hoax' and it wasn't blown out of proportion to sink Donald Trump or anything like that. This is a worldwide serious problem which is a major concern for NGO's, corporations and governments around the world. They are all taking it very seriously.

If the USA never even existed this disease would be a worldwide crises. This disease needs to be taken on it's own strengths and merits and not viewed through a political filter nor explained away for political reasons.

Currently the R0 number for Corona is higher than the flu (that means a person with the corona virus will infect more people than someone with the flu).

Such a declaration allows the government to unlock money for antiviral drugs and other medical preparedness measures. By April 29, Obama had requested Congress approve a $1.5 billion emergency funding package to combat the pandemic..."

Trump didn't really take this seriously until the stock market tanked. The one sure way to get his attention.

But I don't blame him for the pandemic or for the lack of testing in the US. I just wish he would tell the truth for once.

Thx. People dont want to understand that you must know the total number of people infected to calculate the death rate. Total number infected is unknown even in china. Govts dont care, the media simply wants revenue not facts. Facts might ruin their bottom line.

Maybe, but if you had a hypothetical pathogen with an R0 of 1000 but no, or highly limited harmful effects, would it matter? The effects for the very vast majority of the people infected by corona are little more than a bad cold. Someone who gets a few sneezes and a cough isn't going to run to the doctor and demand to be tested for this. If the actual infection rate is significantly higher (and I truly believe it is) then that would push the mortality rate way down, and the overall impact would be...about that of a cold.

Yep, wholeheartedly agree. We keep hearing that X thing is going to kill everyone and we lose our damn minds panicking. But many of us have been lulled into complacency because just about every year, X thing, "Is gonna kill us all!!"

This is not the time for panic, but the Wuhan Flu also isn't much ado about nothing. It's a disease that is going to kill a lot of people. If we keep level heads, remain calm and make wise decisions we can limit the death toll. If we panic we create a death toll multiplier. And no matter what we do, we just have to accept that a lot of people are going to die. It's a pandemic, just like hundreds of others before it. Humanity can and will take the proverbial punch to the gut, get back up, dust itself off and continue on doing our thing.

Donald Trump's administration was not at the helm. We unfortunately live in a world where, according to Donald Trump, every waking moment, thought, action or issue in this country must be viewed through the lens of how it affects, oh dear leader.

Donald and Company are politicizing and weaponizing an infectious disease as their next effort to divide the country and demonize the Democratic Party. Americans see it. The world sees it.

The ONGOING and CONTINUAL Trump campaign find it necessary to sow absolute chaos in these United States of America. And on each and every issue and aspect of our lives. It is exhausting and is the opposite of governing and the antithesis of the purpose of the formation of our government in these United States of America.
