Anyway, if the government wanted to do this, there aren't enough military, national guard and local law enforcement available to even do that.
Well, this is different, I think people would help to keep it enforced, for example, if I see my neighbor going out in public and ignoring the quarantine...that puts me and my family at risk!! People are very quick to call police today over the slightest thing, if someone is endangering the lives of others with their activities, people will probably handle that on their own!

That sounds ominous.

Do you think we ought to start picking off pedestrians in the steet with our Joe Biden
autograph AR-14s?

i wonder if the OP and all who think like him will kindly walk into the ovens when they hit 70 because they are taking up resources and wealth from the "young" people. Somehow i think not....

Stop repeating this lie. Trump closed down travel from foreigners. Americans were still free to come and go as they pleased. I bet you think he banned the virus from hitching a ride on Americans as they traveled, and the virus was so scared of Trump it complied, right? I say that in jest, but I wouldn't doubt for an instant that some sycophants actually believe that.

However, this is the "real deal". We just had a medical staff meeting about this. All of the precautions and measures taken are 100% appropriate. The only way this crisis turns out better than the Spanish Flu is through aggressive policies to curb the spread.

This is a real medical crisis and people should understand that it is not an overblown hoax. We just banned elective surgical cases to preserve resources; gloves, masks, and gowns are already in short supply. Discussions were made of using the anesthesia machines in the OR as ventilators and using the OR rooms as urgent (ICU rooms).

Hospitals and physician practices are not committing economic suicide for nothing. Think about that for a few minutes.
We don't often agree, but we do here - 100%.

Thank you for chiming in from an "insider" perspective.

And you think the world's response is overkill? If you aren't taking precautions then you're just being callous, selfish, and have no regard for anyone else.

"Taking precautions" and shutting down the economy are two very different things.

In the end, we may find that more Americans were hurt by the "precautions" than the disease.

Pleas read about how the "Spanish Flu pandemic killed many millions as it was spread by world-traveling troops during WWW I...

Our medical and healthcare people -- and our leaders -- are doing their best to not repeat history.

Do your part, too!

https://www.history.com/topics/world...8-flu-pandemic

This 1918 virus infected more than 500 million, killed between 20-50 million -- today it would kill many more as our population has grown much larger and many of us are centered in large, crowded cities..

Just think how that would affect our global economy...

Well, math for one. It would only need to infect about 100 million people to kill millions.
