Except doctors can already prescribe the drug something you may have missed. No one is stopping them but I know its important to his supporters to claim that this was some sort of revelation by Trump. It's just amazing how many things he has knowledge for someone who doesn't read.
I just watched a video where a reporter was giving Trump a hard time about him giving false hope to the public about drugs that might help. Trump repeatedly said that he doesn't know if it will help but he has heard good things but it was not good enough for the reporter.
If there is something out there that might help a dying person then why not try it?

How do we know he wasn't cured by the Miracle that Trump said would cure this virus? Without clinical testing, his curing could be coincidental. Dr. Fauci is right, we should test ASAP to get real results, not anecdotal ones.
It's tough though, because Trump said the Miracle was the cure last week, and he never lies, so maybe that is what cured this guy?

Because false hope is as dangerous as no hope. Look at all the people infected now because Trump promised them it would go away like a miracle. Look at all the people who might be infected because Trump told them they can be cured by going to work.
If there is something out there that MIGHT help, then we should FAST TRACK finding out if it does. Because it also "might NOT help".

One anecdote is all it takes.
Because its an already existing FDA approved drug. What about all the other potentials? Got a few years to wait for an antidote?

Eh, I don't think the vast vast vast majority of people are going to roll the dice on the basis of one anecdotal study, even if they might boldly type otherwise on the internet.
Considering that the biggest problem so far has been younger people with the attitude that they will be fine, I don't see this as either a solution nor major risk at this point.
Secondly, all of this goes through a doctor and well...if they have nothing to lose then....
