The new commercial from Republicans For the Rules of Law isn't going to help his case a bit. It's due to air on Fox News shortly.

I think people are realizing how fortunate we are to have a leader like Trump that would actually take actions to protect the lives of American citizens. They realize that Democrats are only too happy to let Americans die in order to protect their social justice warrior agenda, and would have refused to ban travel from infected country. We see the results in Italy-and saw them with the disastrous response to H1N1 in '09.

The first six weeks or more he did nothing but lie. This is a well documented fact.

That's two false premises in one sentence. Very Trumpian.

Hopefully the death rate will turn out to be low, it's early days yet. But it does no good to lie about it now. People are sick and tired of the lies coming from the Trump propaganda machine. He is, after all, the one to claim "there are only fifteen people sick, and all recovering" when in fact there were over sixty at the time and the number growing by the hour. he's the one to tell us to keep going to work, even if we are sick (what a knucklehead).

The man lies constantly, even over life and death issues and also even over unimportant things he has no good reason to lie about and nothing to gain from it. He can't stop himself.

I certainly don't want to catch COVID-19, nor does anyone else I know, and we will all follow the CDC and WHO guidelines and the best suggestions from the experts and hopefully pull through this together.

As for Trump? ... the best thing he can do for us right now is stay out of the way. Hopefully now he will do just that.

Thanks Toyman.

Bears repeating.

You are the one denying reality. Trump never denied the existence of the Coronavirus. He called out the hoax of the media first criticizing him for blocking inbound flights from China while simultaneously false-reporting that he was doing nothing.

Especially when checks are coming their way.

He did say many times after the travel RESTRICITON that we would see the numbers drop.

Health officials here and all over the world were saying we would see them grow.

You guys have very short memories.

The Democrats were criticizing his contradicting statements -- and he called that a hoax....

2 Democrats publicly condemned the restriction NOT ban......and if you are right - then his statement was politicizing the issue for his gain.

HE DID NOT BLOCK PLANES FROM CHINA. That is rewriting history.

Yes of course he restricted flights.

Italy BANNED all flights from China, Honk Kong and other places four days before we restricted flights.

STOP touting this as our saving grace. Like asking us to self isolate....it was what should be done. It wasn't some miracle cure.

Yeah I think that's pretty much how it will be viewed, his "America first" rhetoric which is always bashed by those on the left will be pretty attractive during a crisis. The fact that the president will be viewed as someone who puts the interests of the US above those of others will be a selling point against those who are advocating for putting the interests of other countries ahead of the interests of American citizens.

Reality doesn't matter quite as much as perception, so that's really what I'm talking about. The perception will be that of having one guy who is "America first" and the other guy is advocating for de facto open borders and having American citizens pay for the healthcare of illegal immigrants.

That's true too. Trump was a life long Democrat and he's stealing a move straight out of their playbook. "Free stuff" will buy a ton of votes from the short sighted.
