And we'll have a good stock for the next novel disease. That is a good problem to have. Now if only we can do that with the gowns, n-95 masks, face shields, etc. at the same time...

It isn't the water, it is that it lingers in the air. That and if you looked at the picture I quoted in that post, on the county that was open, it was packed. It was the New York parks where people weren't getting exercise, but rather talked. It was the Arizona trails that are open but every flocks to because they got cabin fever.

They showed people walking in the streets, some even without mask. Neither the people nor the town seemed wealthy at all. The median age there is over 60.
I think a town of 1000 inhabitants, none of them with Covid, in the middle of a contaminated region like Lombardy is quite unusual.

assuming he knows what he's talking about, this is great ... but it's also rather amazing we HAVE the number of cases we do if it's somewhat difficult to get (see 03:30 for about 3 minutes).

I am not a physician, but I was wondering: Maybe they should not make patients lie on their backs. It must be hard for them to breathe in because of the weight of the chest. Maybe it would be better to strap them to their beds and put them in a vertical position.

Agree although there is no reason we can't change our ways.

From 'blinded by ideology' to 'blinded by science' might not be a bad idea, for now.

Well, since you asked. I am a sailor.

If you walk on the beach and someone 15 feet in front of you walking sneezes and the wind is headed your way, it's a very easy trip to your face.

No, you won't get from footsteps. No, not from much other beach activity.

I think the biggest reason that beaches were shut down is that they contain "choke points" and multiple places where many people touch the same thing. Example - the boardwalks to cross the dunes, the restrooms, the foot showers and more.

Also, lifeguards must usually be present and it would be certain infection if they had to do CPR, etc. etc.

So it's not like YOU couldn't go to the beach (in theory). It's just that thousands cannot.

Current real projections now range from 36K dead in the USA to 240K.

The difference is really personal behavior and testing. Even Fauci says 100K+ because he realizes we are not doing what it takes to hit the low numbers.

These numbers are pretty sold. Of course, things can always fall outside the range of probabilities but rarely do they.
